To answer your question, dehydrating yourself to that extent can in fact inhibit all of your abilities.

You can pass out doing nothing by being dehydrated, let alone fight championship fights.

His speed, power, and most importantly punch resistance could all have been effected by dehydrating to make weight.

Now that he seems to not have to dehydrate whatsoever by hanging around the mid 140's, his body feels better on fight night, so the speed and power is there and he seemingly takes a punch better.

    Thats my take.
    Nice post Reed...

I was wondering how many fighters you can name that have become faster & stronger in their 30's then they were in their 20's.

Also I am not of the belief that Manny was struggling to make 126 or 130lbs...or he was dehydrated in any of those fights. I never ever heard Roach or Pac at that time claim that they were struggling to make weight @126 or 130lbs

Get real man, he's a great fighter, that's all.
He's the same ****** poster who keeps making threads saying
that Manny's opponents were weak, basically saying Manny is
actually weak. Then he crushes his own argument by saying Pac
is really on peds. WTF! What do you need peds for if all your
opponents are weak and you're expected to win, anyway?

Can the moderators ban all these ****** mdafkkers once and for
      all for their ****** logic?

I agree with this, but what I will ask you is how many "boxer" have become stronger and faster as theyve moved up in weight and become older...

When he went up to featherweight, still because of his under developed defensive skills he often got caught with well placed punches from the great Mexicans of Barrera, Morales and Marquez but still nobody has dropped him or knock him down, most of the times because of Manny's unbalanced stance and body movement whenever he got caught with those punches it appears as if he was rocked but in reality he was just caught unbalanced... Now as a WW, Manny has a better defense now, yes he is still getting caught with flush punches but Manny is heftier now giving him great balance even when he is bouncing around, he is rarely getting caught in awkward position... And your arguement of Manny being faster and more powerful now.. I don't agree with that, he was much faster at the lightweight down, he slowed down when he went up in weight it's just that compared to the bigger guys he is tremendously faster... He was much powerful at the lightweight down often KO'ing opponents in the 1st round with 1 left straight, now at the WW-up it is fortunate that he developed his right hand as power punch also, often using combinations to beat up on his opponents with two hands both with enough pop to make terrible damage... You should review Manny's very early fights upto his last fight with Margarito before you make your accessments, Manny's rise is due to hard work, there's no other explanations!!!

            Great post man....

He looked so bad in the Larios fight (pretty sure it was the one) the commentary team was questioning whether his career was over.

Then Ariza arrrived and the same commentary team were stunned at his turnaround in his fight with Diaz.
Yes his stamina has def increased in the past 2 years, maybe hes just running in higher altitudes....

Any boxer could be on steroids but it's just a case of innocent until proven guilty.

If that does happen and he is proven to be on steroids I will hold my hands up.
Basically. Your belief is no different from the next man believing the opposite. One thing's for sure: Manny Pacquiao doesn't care to have anyone find out.

Margarito, shot and slow. Isn't this what we all say about Manny and his opponents? Why is everyone surprised he is blasting through these guys?
while i agree these guys are bums...none of these guys were ever BLASTED out by fighters their size with their strength & power.

can you name me anyone on any of those guys resumes..who "blasted them out"?
