He didn't beat Cotto at 154, he beat him at 145. Cotto is legitimately capable of competing at 154, Pacquiao isn't, so a Martinez fight is realistic for Cotto. It's like saying Floyd Mayweather should have fought Bernard Hopkins, because he beat Oscar at 154. See what I mean?

And Margarito is not the same size as Martinez. He is the same height, but Margarito is a career welterweight. He can actually make 150 in great shape, Martinez would be a zombie trying to weigh in at 150, and when Martinez lost to Margarito both fighters were in much different states in their career. It's like saying Sergio Martinez should fight Chad Dawson, because Paul Williams is the same height or even taller. See what I mean?
