Huh? Do some backtracking on the thread. What me and you are talking about is Pac meeting Martinez at 155 for Martinez' MW Title and Pac to further his legacy by winning a title in a 10th division. You stated that Marg and Martinez were the same size. At the same time you thought it ridiculous for Martinez to challenge Pac at 155. All I did was question your reasoning. If Marg and Martinez are the same size as you conceded, why is it ridiculous for martinez to request a 155 catchweight. ESPECIALLY considering he's putting up his MW title? Your answer was that Martinez would come in atleast 20 lbs heavier. Where you and I had a misunderstanding is whether it was 20 lbs heavier than Pac or 20 lbs heavier than the official weigh in of 155.
Martinez only weighed 1lb more on fight night against Williams than Margarito did when he met Pac in the ring. That cannot be disputed. And that was after a catchweight of 158 against Williams.
Weight isn't the issue here. Skill set is.Comment

man, you want me to prove to you that 168 minus 148 is 20?.....lolHuh? Do some backtracking on the thread. You say Marg and Martinez are the same size though. Once again-what does requesting a higher catweight of 155 matter if they are going to be the same size come fight time? In other words, Pac has to limit as much as possible? The fact that Martinez is willing to put up his MW Title changes everything here.
At 150 against Pac, Marg came in at 167. Pac trounced him.
At 158 against Williams, Martinez came in at 168.
There is a one pound difference there. Martinez is willing to come down 3 more pounds to meet Pac and put his title on the line.
Once again, weight is not the issue as much as skill. You can only pull the wool over peoples eyes for so long.Comment

Do you believe those fighters didn't re hydrate after the weigh in just because it was the same day? They did. And even with the same day weigh in Robinson came in 16 pounds less than Maxim. As much as 15 pounds less against Lamotta. Armstrong did the same thing. You're right it's not close to the same because no fighter today would take a chance and do that... Including Pacquiao. And he wouldn't give up 25 to 30 pounds against Martinez. Let's not exaggerate.Didn't those guys have same day weigh-in's back then? It's not even close to the same. These fools now are blowing up 15-20 pounds by fight time. It's apples and oranges. U can't have it both ways, on one hand u say the mans a miget and sucks, on the other u want him to give up 25-30 pounds to the best middle weight in the world. I know manny's great and all, but that's just ******. Pride will get u so far, then it will get u killed.Comment
