      • I mean quite frankly (and keep in mind I'm drunk), it's pretty obvious that ODH is a bigger PPV draw, or draw in genera.. But that being said, Manny's career isn't over. He may someday overtake Oscar, but as for right NOW............Oscar is still the man in terms of drawing power. Case closed.

        • Oscar was and still is one of the biggest things boxing has ever seen. Manny is definitely getting there, but Oscar is a whole different level of superstar.

I mean, dude was so popular he made a latino pop album that ended up being nominated for a Grammy.

They called him the golden boy for a reason. Oscar single-handedly removed the Heavyweight's grip on the publics interest in boxing in the late mid-late 90s.

Without Oscar no one would care about Floyd or Manny. Theyd be putting 4,900 people in Vegas on BAD.

Floyd and Manny may sell more PPVs 10+ years later, but Oscar was the game changer that made that possible.

            • Oscar was the main reason the biggest PPV fight occurred, but to say Floyd wasn't a main factor in generating that much PPV is a joke. Oscar couldn't do 2mill with any other opponents besides Floyd - fact. Floyd can surpass that by fighting Pac and Floyd would be the Oscar of the Oscar-Floyd match and Pac would be the Floyd of the match in terms of PPV draw.

              • De La Hoya by far.

De La Hoya was also in the heavyweight era. Where guys like Tyson, Holyfield, Lewis were all the big draws. De La Hoya was the pioneer and brought interest in the WW and JMW division. Not only that De La Hoya had one of the, if not the biggest female followings in all of combat sports.

I actually got excited for Oscar fights, because unlike Pacquiao, Oscar fought actual competition in his biggest fights, guys that he could easily lose to and still pulled off victories. Not only that but he and Floyd had the biggest fight in boxing history.

Pacquiao for me, is just eh. There's no other top draws to watch. We have no options in today's world not like a few years ago when you had multiple options.

                  Really?

Pacquiao vs. Clottey did 700K buys, so it's basically all Pacquiao, agree? Let's compare it to Oscar's. Dela Hoya vs. Whitaker (720K), vs. Camacho (560K), vs. JCC II (525K), vs. Quartey (570K), and vs. Shane Mosley I (590K). We're talking about the who's who in boxing here. Sweet Pea, Hector Macho, JCC Superstar, Bazooka and Sugar Shane. Don't get me started with Floyd, he's got a great dancing partner in his fellow superhyped, undefeated, fan friendly Hatton, that fight just did 920K. I wish I could add more for Floyd, but I can basically count with my fingers the PPVs he had...

Oscar was far bigger here in the US, but globally, Pacman's bigger, and Floyd is bigger than Oscar too, but for a different reason...

Pacman is nipping on his heels, he has 14 as of last count...

                    • many arguments here are idiotic!!!!!

Lets put it this way, PacMan is Filipino and his fan base is many thousand miles away back in Philippines, most of whom cant afford to buy tickets to fly to watch PacMan fight. Oscar is American, a very large portion of his fans is in America.

Weve all seen both PacMan and Oscar fill out stadiums in America, I give this a tie with a slight edge to PacMan. However if we had to pick a fighter who would most likely fill a 500,000 seat hypothetical stadium in Philippines (with both fights happening at the same time and place), I highly doubt that Oscar could even fill 10,000 of those seats.......PacMan however would easily fill his (provided tickets are affordable to the poor).
