Which IMO, would give Manny the edge! It's all up to both Manny, and Floyd. Floyd's proven he can draw flies to ****e, and Manny is well on his way!
    post facts....

pac wont fight martinez. and what we do know, based on the facts is that if both floyd and pac fought sergio. floyd would sell more.

so post facts that pac is the bigger draw?

pacneeded two fighters who are draws Cotto and Marg to do a mil. when he didnt have a draw, he did 700.

floyd did 1.4 with a non draw, Shane. in a comback fight with JMM. floyd did 1.1. who is a very small draw, smaller than cotto and marg.

so again, post facts that pac is the bigger draw rather than claiming this b.c of "inactivity"

Pac and Floyd right now are bigger than Oscar ever was.
Better - maybe? Outsell - never.

      • This isn't a simple question to answer, you can't just say DLH over Pac and Floyd because the numbers don't lie that both Pac and Floyd right now are doing insane numbers every time out.

De La Hoya had consistency, he was a huge draw for 16 years. Since his pro boxing debut he was a huge draw. The problem with DLH is he wasn't a consistent winner and nowhere near as consistently exciting as Pacquiao is.

What both Pacquiao and Floyd are doing right now is something incredible, they are both helping each other because of the potential fight that looms. It's like Sammy Sosa and Mark McGwire, they are both pushing the other into the mainstream and making these fights so much bigger.

It's a perfect storm right now with Pacquiao and Mayweather, if they ever do get in the ring and shatter every record for PPV buys and paid attendance there will be little doubt left that it took the 2 biggest draws getting together to make it happen.

The great thing about Pacquiao and Mayweather becoming such big draws is people were asking who would be the guy to take the place of DLH when he finally retired, luckily we got 2 guys instead of 1.

When did Margarito become a draw?

The only PPV he ever headlined, the one right before Pac, pulled in 12-15K buys... then all of a sudden he fights Manny and does 1.2+ mil? You even predicted the fight would do 800K at most, so how do you reconcile that?

Marquez pulled in 250K with Barrera, 400K with Manny (record for lower weights), pulled in 200K in a rematch with Diaz. Marquez is EASILY the most popular and bankable Mexican fighter out there right now.

Floyd averages 1.1 mil buys from Hatton-Mosley, Manny averages 1 mil from Hatton-Margarito. And if you take out Clottey (only non 24/7 fight) then both guys have averaged 1.1 million buys after Oscar in their 3 fights that featured a 24/7.

Manny generated 2.1 million buys in 2009 to Floyd's 1 million and 1.9+ million in 2010 to Floyd's 1.4 million... not to mention Manny brought in about 90,000 fans into Cowboys stadium.

The only difference is the Oscar fight, and DLH was unquestionably the A side in both fights, so that doesn't speak to Manny and Floyd's ability to headline a card.

thats what i said guy. keep up. floyd, PPV for PPV sells more than manny. floyd has done what manny has with half as many PPV. and manny didnt bring 90k fans. those numbers arent real since thousands of tickets were given away.

you had 41k paying customers for the clottey fight and what just came out as 30k paying customers for the marg fight. but at the end of the day. all that matters for gate isnt attendance, its money generated and floyd ****s on pac.

if you believe that floyd wouldnt put more asses in those seats if he fought at that stadium, you are sadly mistaken. that facts are on floyds side, not pacs

when staples center sold out. when pac does 700k with clottey and 1.1 with marg. thats what shows marg is a draw. to say otherwise is silly

              • this is a no brainer, DLH has the PPV record on most sales without being a heavyweight? yes?

Pac had 1.25 mil buys vs Floyd's 1 mil last year, Floyd had 1.4 mil vs Pac's 1.2 this year... so they traded years of who had the most buys, PLUS Manny had 850K against Hatton last year and 700K against Clottey this year. And virtually every fight has comps, free tickets, etc so what's your point?

The gates for Pac-Hatton and Pac-Cotto outdid Floyd-Marquez by 3,500 tickets and about $2 million, only Floyd-Shane outdid a Manny fight, so no, get your facts straight.

And Floyd is nothing without 24/7 and his wanksta fugazi act, he'd only have his boring style to sell PPVs which means he'd go back to pulling in 300K at the most, meanwhile Manny proved he could pull in more than double that against a guy 99% of the public had never heard of, with no promotions on short notice.

                  • dela Hoya created two PPV monsters in Floyd and Pac.

                    He's their daddy.

                    • If by draw you guys are referring to money, then DLH is hands down the man, cause in second place is Mayweather with a little bit more than 400 million, and DLH almost doubles that.
