Pretty good numbers for fighting a guy that has been on American cable TV less times than Clottey. The fight was also a day after black friday. But they have to stop throwing every fight in Vegas, GBP dont really care about attendance because the hotels pay up good money. Not every one can always make it out to Vegas for fights. I was planning on going but the whole trip would cost me about $1,000 and thats for a fight that is really not that big. They need to be nice to the fans and throw more fights their way within closer range.

I live in Vegas no one is here this week everyone is spending Thanksgiving with family elsewhere,plus ticket sales at the fight do not mean much,my town makes the money off of what those 4920 put on the tables,and even if they were to sale 15k tickets we would make the same money,because the big money guys watching and going back and ******** is all Vegas gives a sht about.

WTF... why are people shocked by this? The last time Marquez was on a big stage, he took a big fat **** on the 1 million people who paid 50 bucks to see him. Like 2 people bouth JMM/Diaz II because JMM got completely outclassed by Floyd and it was most boring fight of the millenium, people don't pay to watch that garbage. People don't pay to watch Mayweather either, they pay to watch him lose and Marquez didn't do either of those. Anyone thinking this was going to do anything over 8 or 9k in attendance is idiotic. Marquez never was and never will be a draw unless Manny/Floyd in the picture.

Vegas is no longer an option for boxing imo and hasn't been a good place to hold a fight in a longgggggggg time. The economy has changed greatly and no one is traveling like they used to. Boxing needs to continue to hold fights in different cities across America to ****e interest in areas that didn't have that much interest before. Big fights need to held in big cities, not Vegas where not even a half million people live. Start holding more events in NYC, Chicago, Houston, and LA/San Diego.
