You will not believe the attendance for tonight's fight.

Golden Boy just posted this on Facebook: We would like to thank the 4,920 in attendance tonight for making this a spectacular fight with tremendous energy!

    Wow.

Pathetic. Marquez-Katsidis deserved a big audience, I hope the TV ratings at least will be high.

That is just... damn sad. Just shows you that even top fighters like Marquez can't draw **** without the two biggest names in boxing, Pacquiao and Mayweather. Really sucks and doesn't look good for boxing at all.

Around the same for Marquez/Juanma, maybe Vegas is slipping, they need to look into new arenas.

This is too bad. Marquez is a great fighter who deserves more attention. This fight was 10 times better than Pac/Margarito, but unfortunately, the audience was one-tenth the size of Pac/Margarito.

This shoots to hell the ridiculous claim by *******s that Marquez was responsible for the 1 million PPV buys in the Mayweather fight.

It is a shame.....and as for your second point Floyd Mayweather Jr is the biggest PPV draw in the sport bar none and it simply can't be disputed by any rational person.

Boxing is getting good crowds overseas, but I don't know why big fights like Martinez-Williams and Marquez-Katsidis can't attract. Might be a US problem?

Boxing needs new ideas like what Arum is doing by bringing fights to new arenas and exposing the sport to a wider audience in stadiums and ball parks. I think the Vegas thing is getting stale. GBP is trying to expand the market on the East Coast, so we'll see how that goes.

But it's a shame that a war like that had such a limited crowd, those guys deserve better.
