    A few fights later...

TS showing he needs to be given a lesson on the fight game. This is newbie **** right here. One loss, he's exposed, he sucks, he's overrated, he needs to retire, etc. Look into the archives to see similar situations, this is just a setback for P-Will, he's going to come back strong after this (as long as it's not against Martinez).

this is frickin ******ed. people act like once a fighter gets stopped their career is over. pwill got caught, and he got caught by the #3 p4p guy in the world. he would still ice pavlik - and no telling what would happen in a third fight. no one expected martinez to ice williams with ONE shot, esp that early in the fight.

amazing performance by martinez - damn. he's a great guy, if you don't like him you are an absolute idiot.

pwill got put out - but he didn't take a beating. cotto took more punishment in the pacquiao and marg fights than williams did tonight and he looked wonderful against foreman. you don't know **** until you see williams in action again. williams is young, i think to suggest hes done after 1 single fight is ******ed.

        Was a bum all along.

He lost to Quintana decisively, lost every round against the Frog, and got a gift in the first Sexy fight because of his connections to Haymon and HBO.

Reality is a cold *****. This dude's time is up.

          Ummm.... yeah.

I said Sexy would k.o his ass.

Williams has no defense or skills, other than trying to swamp his opponents with dumb activity which doesn't work at the top level of the sport.

Why do you think his punch resistance is gone now? These modern era fans are hilarious. Everyone is "damaged goods" when they finally lose. It's hysterical. I'm sure glad after Arguello got stopped the first time, he didn't go "Ah, well. Now that my punch resistance is ruined..." etc.

He'll be ok. He just needs to change his fight game. He was bound to get drilled like that. It's not like he took 12 full rounds of punishment. He just got caught on the button. It's boxing. That **** happens. He can bounce back. The biggest concern for me is his confidence. He was so confident in his ability to take a punch and going to war. This could affect that. We'll see.

I think the weight was too much for him. He needs to go back downin weight and stay there

How about Oscar Larios, who got knocked unconscious in the first fight against Vazquez (while he was undefeated and they were still prospects)?

How about Rafael Marquez 3 KO losses before going on the run that made him a future HOFer and 2 FOTY?

Some guy named Pacquiao, who got stopped by body shots and can now take body shots from the most murderous body punchers of the last decade (30+ pounds above from where he got stopped no less)?

                  Margarito?

                  Martinez?

                  Wlad Klitschko?

                  David Haye?

                  Marco Huck?

                  Sturm?

                  Khan?

                  Katsidis?

Damn, these threads make me look at these cats funny style.

Amen. Good post. You know, it's one thing to say maybe he should take some time off, and a softball comeback fight, but come on.

Dumb statement.. Pretty sure that shot knocks most people out.

And a lot more kept him in the game then just his punch resistance.
