Honestly the only person who can beat floyd will have to have better offense and good defense to beat him. Everyone talks about floyds defense but everyone forgets about his offense. People always saying Floyd feather fisted ect ect but in almost every floyd fight his opponent got hurt Oscar, Shane, Gatti, hatton, on and on. I think the reason most people lose to floyd is not only his adjustments but also because they are surprised by his punching power. I think he only holds back to keep from hurting his hand again.

doesn't matter if boxer is mentally tough or not. the boxer style is made for the pressure fighter.

the boxer style is based on average punch output and using his legs to stay out of harm's way.

the pressure fighter's style is based on high punch output, cutting off the ring.

all things being equal (including mental toughness) pressure fighter beats boxer.
diaz pressure fighter malgnaggi pure boxer who wins?

castillo pressure fighter mayweather pure boxer who wins?
a great pure boxer beats a great everything even a great pressure fighter

Just Pressure him!! Judah beat him by 4 rds. Hatton has early success, Castillo actually beat him, Shot DLH almost beat him, Six guys in the amateur beat himm his 2nd fight with Sanders has sucesss against him.

Today's Pac will be too much for him. That's why he's ducking as much as he can!!

Coming from the Jeet Kune Do camp...STYLE doesn't beat other arts/martial artists/fighters. The Fighter himself does.

Meaning it isn't the style per se. Any style performed or utilized by a competent fighter can beat Mayweather.

It boils down to the timing and usage of it. After all, according to Bruce Lee:

            • Before I started training, a punch is a punch and a kick is a kick. While learing how to fight a punch in no longer a punch and a kick is no longer a kick. After I have learned them, a punch is still a punch and a kick is still a kick.

Therefore in the light of this thread, it isn't the STYLE that makes the fight. THE FIGHTER DOES.

Until that person arrives, it doesn't matter what style we call it, a punch can beat Mayweather when timed right, done right and executed in the right place.

In my opinion I've always thought Miguel cotto has a great style to beat Floyd. But then again Miguel lives in puerto Rico so Floyd won't fight him.

Having early success against Mayweather has been a pattern in a variety of fights, this is where most fighters won some rounds. It seems to me after the 6th or so round the tide turns, since Mayweather adapts in the later rounds.
