Firsty, I don't think that Khan has a better speed than Floyd, who also has a 1 inch longer reach. Khan's defensive skills, don't fill me with confidence and he hasn't faced one tough opponent yet. Khan would find himself exposed against Mayweather's superior boxing skills.

and you're comparing khan's jab with gatti's jab lol?

Again.. watch khan fight first before you make your argument, because I thought the same thing everybody did until I started really watching him fight.
        LOL.

This guy admits to just starting to watch Khan fight, and acts like he discovered America.

Dude, you're in a boxing forum, where thousands of people have seen Khan fight already. Get a grip.

          LOL.

          Floyd's a pot shotter/defensive fighter.

I honestly don't see how Mayweather can beat him.

Mayweather likes to fight in exchanges. He does his exchange, he steps out or wait until you've spent yours and resets again, and that's how he wins fights- by breaking you down in each exchange until you got nothing left. But Khan's reach is so deceptively long.. anytime mayweather is on the outside, khan has the advantage. The reach advantage is bad enough, but Khan's handspeed is tremendous- he might even be faster than floyd. He shoots his long ass arms like lightning, and with pinpoint accuracy too.

I see Khan either knocking out mayweather or taking him in a decision.

I can't see how you can outbox khan at this division, you need to force him into a fight to win, and mayweather has never done that.

*********Edit: I thought khan's reach was longer than it was when I wrote this(this is the first time i've really watched khan fight) and I didn't know mayweather's was that long. So I reverse my position for now, until I see more of Khan.

I stopped reading just here!!! Thanks...

I will admit that Amir Khan does have the style to beat Floyd. He just lacks something.

While the TS left himself open for criticism by admitting that he hadn't seen much of Khan it is an interesting topic. Khan with his youth, skill-set and with Roach (boxing mind and match-making ability) and Ariza in his corner is a much improved fighter. I think he has improved his power, stamina and perhaps even his punch resistance (Ariza's shakes?) and possesses a top notch jab and relatively good foot-speed. Due not that he has been sparring for a few years now with arguably the top boxer in the world and is now more than holding his own now. Those sparring sessions are priceless and paramount in his development as a fighter. Yet with all that said he still hasn't proven that he is ready for such a huge jump in class. Looking back now his easy Kotelnik win might be his biggest and perhaps best opponent on his ledger (a 140 lb Barrera doesn't count) but Floyd is in another stratosphere. A poster above me said it best that he has "may" possess the skills but is lacking something. I believe he is missing the tenacity needed to give Floyd trouble. Khan seems too content to outbox a fighter and seems to still have that amateur boxer mindset. Case in point, the Malinaggi fight. Granted Malinaggi is tough as nails (just look at the beating he withstood from Cotto) but with Paulie's lack of any punching power Khan should have stepped up his attack and could have gotten the stoppage because he had nothing to fear coming back from Paulie. To have any chance at beating Floyd you got to be willing to enter the cobra's lair knowing that although you are going to get bit you are going in anyway. NOBODY outboxes Floyd u gotta FIGHT him! Khan doesn't possess Manny's fearlessness and/or willingness to mix it up. I also don't like the comments that he wants to fight Pac and Floyd when they age and are losing their skills. It makes perfect sense he just should not have said it publicly. I also didn't like him in the post-Malinaggi fight interview saying that Bradley and Alexander should fight each other first. Again, career wise that makes perfect sense (why fight 2 young credible forces at 140 when you can just fight one) it just didn't sit well with me and reinforced my opinion of him that he doesn't yet possess that warrior mentality. I would love to see him fight the Bradley-Alexander winner (I think Bradley wins) because that would give a better gauge as to how he would fair against a slicker fighter. Imo, Bradley is the best at 140 and Khan beating him would really open my eyes. Perhaps then a credible fight at 147 and maybe Khan would be ready for an even older Floyd late next year coming off whooping his boxing buddy Pac's ass lol. Let's also remember Floyd has said repeatedly that he would love to fight in the UK . It could be a retirement fight and a symbolic passing of the torch at 147.

This is a joke right? A bad one at that... SMH

You're saying Amir Khan (whose a very good young fighter with potential to be great one day) will out think, outbox and then stop Floyd Mayweather, jr... Where's your frame of reference on anybody ever doing that man?

Your the one not making any sense man...
