He has to PUT himself in a competitive fight first. Hatton was the most competitive fight he's had in half a decade and he is completely 1 dimensional(though he's great at what he does.) Plus Hatton is not a welterweight- like the majority of Floyd's Welterweight bouts.

It's not like they're not available: Pacquiao, Margarito, Cotto, Paul Williams. They're all there waiting to test Mayweather- As badly as the boxing fans WANT to see Mayweather get tested.

I'm a huge Floyd fan, and I'm not saying he CAN'T the best, just that he still hasn't proven it.

Ever since I saw him fight Diego Corrales, I thought damn.. this guy is something special, but every fight since that has just been a letdown because of the opponents he chooses, and the opponents he lets pass him by, who could given him an incredible fight and a chance to showcase just how much talent he really has.

Shane Mosley was a brief glimmer of hope in seeing Floyd fight a competitive fight, but even though shane used to be dangerous, he always looks horrible against slick boxers and movers anyway, and he obviously wasn't the same Shane Mosley that he used to be that night.

I think Floyd just does enough to win..that;s it , he just wins and just does what he has to do. If his opponent is slow , he is slow..if his opponent is fast, then he is fast. When I saw Floyd fight Marquez I was liek damn...Floyd slowed down a lot but then when he fought Mosely..i was liek wow..Floyd looks so fast. Also with Mosley...I think Floyd was more flat footed because he was on the attack more and needed to generate more power to back Shane up. Shane can't fight going backwards and Maywather made shane back paddle all night.

he's wat many refer to as being high talent, low motivation. its what my teachers always described me as. things arent difficult for him so he does enough just to win. it works tho, ive done it all my life...but then again i dont claim to be the best at anything.

was no lucky shot at all from shane mosley.
He practiced and planned his footwork and foot placing and combination that would connect on floyd(naz his trainer talked specifically about this in interviews),and also he only "faded" late on becuase he saw floyd buckle early smelt blood and went for the KO while forgetting that you cant just go and throw and KO floyd, you have to set it up like he did when he rocked and wobbled him in the first place,he forgot what about his game plan and thats why he lost.

Floyd dissapoints becuase hes such a master of defense but has blatently avioded people and not looked to fight often enough and to fight the best challengers out their since being a welterweight.

Pac may have fought people slightly out of weight and sometimes past prime but hes fought people that everyone thought he coud lose too possibly, and hes dominated them in exciting fashion. Plus he should be less expectant to fight people he has like cotto, clottey and soon to be margarito ,as hes smaller and less a skilled defensive boxer than Floyd is.

there both great in thier own way,and future greats without each other, but i think pac looks the more impressive at the moment, floyd needs to beat pac more than pac needs to beat floyd.

theres only a small numbers of opponents either one can face anymore.

                  pacman,martinez,berto(maybe) and williams for floyd.

marquez 3rd match, floyd, mosley or berto for pacman to have left to fight.

floyd doesn't take any risks. he knows he can safely throw 1-2 punch combos without getting countered. but even when his opponent is hopelessly outmatched, wifebeater still won't let his hands go and try for at KO.
