Manny Pacquiao takes on all comers, really?

Child please. Forget thinking your fighter will win, he was commenting on how the other fighters weren't really that good. He called Cotto damaged goods before Pacquiao fought him. He said Oscar couldn't pull the trigger anymore. ****, he told Antonio Margarito that his fighter was going to KO him because he saw his "last two fights."Comment

so people shouldn't pick and choose some random roach quote to suit their agenda.Comment

I agree with U on that,Freddy just speaks to hear himself!!We've been through pages of posts battling,I know what u say makes enough sense to be applied!!I think Manny has done marvelous things at lighter weights!!But U know that I believe that Margarito as an opponent, while competitive no doubt is a slap in the face to the 154lb division!!Comment

here we go again, you getting pissed and shit
you see, i knew were gonna come *****ing when i comment on your post...
i personally don't take any thing freddie says as serious as people here do. he is manny's trainer, he is supposed to think his fighter will win. he states reason on why he thinks that, but im not gonna take it like its the fucking word of god.
cotto was a threat, de la hoya was a threat, heck, dare i say margarito is a threat to a lesser extent. don't matter what freddie says, i don't base my opinions on things he says.
oh, and

Yeah but that's not what we're discussing here. So why are you bringing it up? We are speaking about these string of statements which, quite frankly, aren't quite like whatever example you're using. Anyway, the bottom line is that overall, no one can knock Pacquiao's resume. It's phenomenal. But this choice of opponent was disappointing, as was his last one. And Roach's words before those fights underscore this.Comment

I think Pac fought a lot of top fighters, I think Pac accomplished a lot. And the stuff he is doing is just incredible just from how he keeps going up in weight and fighting all these bigger guys and making it a mismatch is crazy.
However, if he did fight all comers he would of fought Raheem in 2006.
he would of fought Guzman and Soto in 2007.
He would of fought Shane Mosley
He would of fought JMM III
He would be fighting P-Will right now in Nov.
Since he didn't it is clear he doesn't fight all comers.
But, in this day and age it is hard to fight "all comers".
Elite fighters now fight at the most 3 times a year, some just once a year. And, that is just ridiculous.
However, in 2011 if Manny is not going to retire then he needs to pick up the level of competition again.Comment

That's because you've yet to learn how to discern. Whether you take it seriously or not isn't the issue. As far as Margarito, yeah he could be a threat, just like Clottey could've been a threat. That's if you go against the grain. Margarito hasn't looked good in two years, has fought once in that span and is likely past his prime. If a threatening fighter was what team Pacquiao was looking for, they sure wouldn't have chosen him.
i think margarito is more of a threat than what most here believe cause obviously, there is the size advantage and the fact that he has more to prove. a hungry fighter is a dangerous fighter. that, plus the issue on how the added weight will affect manny. i know it has become a cliche, but he can only climb so much... contrary to popular belief, it isn't as easy as going up in weight class as manny makes it seem to be. maybe the weight would affect him this time.
and of course, margarito isn't the biggest threat that manny could have faced, certainly there are more fighters deserving. im not pretending that manny is doing something ground breaking when he fights margarito. but to think that he doesn't pose a threat is just plain ******.Comment

Well that's what makes the quote funny. The irony of it all. There were better fights out there.Comment
