Williams had just beaten Margarito and was undefeated. Mosley had been lackluster at WW and fought fringe contenders. Williams would have beaten Cotto senseless and Miguel outboxed Mosley. That was not the fight to be made.

But, whatever the point is Cotto never ducked P-Will. The timing was just never right for them to fight. People just don't consider the timeline at the time.

Was HBO interested in a third fight with Quintana? They weren't interested in the second, which was on Showtime. It seemed that Williams was just getting in where he could fit in, taking fights on any station and staying busy. He took a tuneup and at least made it interesting by moving up to 160. And flattened the guy in a minute.

Anyway, I don't think Miguel Cotto is afraid of Paul Williams. He's not afraid of anyone. People get too caught up in that. When you're competing at that level, while you respect the other elites around you, you will also see the flaws you might be able to capitalize on. Williams wouldn't have an easy fight with Cotto, BTW. But I also think Cotto had opportunities to fight Williams. Like all other fighters on Top Rank, it really wasn't his decision to make anyway.

Like you mentioned ESPN. and I think that ESPN has Moreno at #5 or not even at the top 5 at bantamweight and that to me is more laughable since it is a divisional(Which should be about facts) ranking compared to a mythical opinion based ranking.
