Apparently not toeing the line and bowing down to the unquestionable power of Shavers and Foreman means being batshit crazy. I have not, nor will I ever, bow down to peer pressure or second-hand opinions, no matter who they're from.

That's not exactly a problem for Wlad, though, is it?

That, or overhand rights, using his speed to catch Wlad unawares as Chambers did at times. If he tries to fight on the inside he gets stifled, simple as that.
tyson has fought similar opponents such as wlad as far as size goes. i don't care if wlad is bigger then tyson......tyson will have all advantages on the inside. tyson is too explosive & too powerful & wlad chin is too weak to stand right in front of a 88 tyson. wlad in my opinion doesn't even really know how to fight on the inside.

        wlad is a outside fighter...

tyson wouldn't give him that room...

all we're doing is having a simple debate. i can't imagine why someone would actually get pissed over dabating on boxingscene.

          oh well......

lol @ tua hitting harder than shavers. Tua's knock outs looked good...........against bums. He was just another tommy morrison. Slightly above average power for a heavy weight.

Ali fought shavers, foreman and liston. 3 massive punchers. Ali said on RECORD shavers hit BY FAR the hardest. Just because shavers lacked "cool" looking knockouts does not mean he didn't punch hard.

as far as tysons punching power, like I said before it's weaker than wlads. There were middleweights that hit harder than tyson.

Again you bring it back to a prime to prime fight when its about the punch.

You just can't say yeah, he probably has a bigger punch. It always comes back to styles make fights I guess.

Tyson never fought anyone like Wlad, but then Wlad never fought anyone like Tyson. I rate both fighters very highly which is why I consider this a pickem fight. Still, I don't think many people realize just what a potent "weapon" Wlad's clinch is. He's like a limpet, draping himself all over you, stifling your work, leaning down on you and taking the energy from your legs. In Tyson's case this would be disasterous, since so much of his power and movement comes from his legs. I can easily see Wlad smothering Tyson's initial onslaught, waiting for him to tire, then strafing him with jabs and right hands till Tyson either quits or mentally gives up (more or less the same thing). Similarly, I can also see Tyson landing a big overhand right on Wlad's jaw, stunning him, then following up with a series of hooks, uppercuts and overhands until Wlad is laid out on the canvas. One thing though, Wlad would not stand in front of a prime Tyson. He doesn't really stand in front of his opponents in general. Rather, he maintains a certain distance from which he can get maximum leverage on his punches whilst ensuring his opponent can't get close enough to land a meaningful shot. It's his opponents who stand in front of him, generally in the hope that they can slip or dodge a Wlad jab and counter with something of their own, a tactic which has so far proved futile, though Tyson more than anyone else would be able to carry it off.

It's generally the stuffy and intolerant boxing orthodoxy who react in such a way when you dare to question their entrenced beliefs. I've learnt to live with it. Can't win em all.
