I know its at 151, but if you read the interview, Margarito was saying that they wanted it at 149 b4 and Roach has mentioned that b4 as well.

My problem is the belt as well. Its more accolades and prestigious that Pac's team is trying to acquire that is not really as legit as it sounds.

Regardless of all of that, can someone answer what reason there is to ask him to come in at 149, 150, or even 151 other than to have him weaker than he would normally be than 154?

And it's not like that weight is going to hurt margarito as he fought at 147 for a long time.

The only thing is the belt, but who cares about that since it's a vacant belt that NEITHER fighter should qualify for in the first place. Doesn't matter if it's at 151 or 154 it's a bull**** vacant WBC belt.

Take the BS belt away and just take this fight for what it's worth.
I agree, i dont have an issue with the fight, although i dont think Margarito deserves the pay day. The only thing is according to The Ring the winner of this fight will be #1 at 154 and i just think its dumb that the winner of this fight will be the man at 154 yet won't even be fighting at that weight, plus theres other guys who deserve the shot more.

          As a Pac fan

I dont even like this fight..

I would rather watch Pac fight Berto, Mosley, Bradley then Margcheato..

And I hate catch weight.. But Its not like Pac is making someone come up in weight..

Pac once again is taking on the bigger man.. gotta give the little man props..

FMJ didnt demand that JMM fight to be at 147. He said he wouldn't be able to make the 144 limit & made 146. The guy had just taken almost 2 yrs off from fighting. So, how do u know how his body was responding? Anyone saying that FMJ didn't try to make weight is just speculating. JMM signed the contract to make it a 147 fight w/ penalties above 144 so it was a legit fight and it wasn't for a belt. Big difference.

Pac asked for 145 in the negotiations for Cotto. Far b4 weigh in time, so that was another time that there was no other reason to ask, other than to weaken a fighter. A fighter that Roach had already said was "not the same fighter" after fighting Margarito, I might add.

FMJ fough ODH at HIS weight weighing in at a much lower weight. No catchweight, not a weight that he hadn't fought in 7 yrs and not w/a dehydration clause either. So FMJ doesn't have the history of trying to weaken or getting a weight advantage over his opponents like Pac does.
Check the stats. FMJ was the smaller fighter in most of his fights

he's setting one of boxing most prestigious records and he's going about it in a disingenuous way by fighting a bum in a catch weight

Floyd Mayweather originally wanted the fight at 147 against Marquez. Marquez would not go up to 147 so they decided on 144 and Floyd purposely came in at 146. Stop trying to rewrite history.

This is just mock outrage. If you really give any validity to the belt then its your fault for being ******.

One word comes to mind: PAPERCHAMPION.
To attempt to win a 154 title making the opponent come just a few lbs from welter is just WRONG. Much worse than winning the welter title at 145.
Superstar or not, I'm changing his aka to

                    Manny "THE PAPER CHAMPION" Pacquiao

I thought it was 151lbs but Margarito is saying they tried to lower it to 149lbs and ended up settling at 150lbs. It is what it is I guess.
