When he was KO'ing bums early on in his career? He is a dirty cheating fighter and you think thats great for the sport!
you've never seen a hopkins fight before he was 40 years old. "that fight" lol you don't even know who it was against and you sure as hell didn't watch it. you found 1 clinch that he did and now you think he's always a clincher? is it that easy to trick your simple brain?

do you really want to go into ducking when talking about calzaghe? he flat out refused to fight glen johnson twice out of fear. he also refused to fight sven ottke. i don't think that was a serious offer to fight hopkins because it was on showtime and hopkins was an hbo fighter. not many people leave hbo to go to showtime and make less money unless they are forced to when they lose or get old.

that must have been such a deflating feeling for him after the fight ended and he realized he was not the great fighter he thought he was. his whole career he had wanted to prove himself on the big stage against a top fighter and even this version of hopkins beat him soundly. he knew he lost that fight and he lost the hunger to fight anymore with it.
Pavlik? Come on. You didn't buy the hype did you?

As for Hopkins beating him 'soundly'? The approach Hopkins took to this fight is not the approach of a soundly winning boxer.

calzaghe believed the hype that's why he ducked him. but calzaghe beats pavlik by default now that hopkins beats him right? i believe that's how boxing works. whoever you beat you get all their wins.

countering calzaghe over and over and dominating the first 8 rounds isn't good enough. the last 4 rounds count for double that's how calzaghe won. i forgot about that loophole.

when you see 2 of the judges score round 2 to calzaghe when he didn't land a single clean punch you know there was no way hopkins ever would have won that fight no matter what he did. the fix was in.

It shows what type of fan you are...inherently biased. Thats been evident since you joined the forum with the sole purpose of trashing Calzaghe and whinging about this fight.

Makes me laugh that Hopkins' whole fan base and people who thought he won makes an appearance in this thread while the Calzaghe fans don't give a crap and are content with the W on his record.

Calzaghe won, Hopkins lost 2 years ago. Move on you emotional B-Hop fans.

BHOP fans love fighters who clinch and headbutt to win matches, that represents philly perfectly doesn't it? A dirty fighter who cheats his way to ATG history by beating up midgets by clinching and headbutting to win. Oh wait, I don't remember Joe Frazier fighting like that.

how am i biased because calderon and calzaghe can't punch? i'm pretty sure that is a fact which would make me very observant. well some people think calzaghe used to be a knockout artist but if you actually look at most of his ko's they are lolsy early stoppages.

and i don't think just because a fighter can't punch his way out of a wet paper bag like those guys that they aren't good fighters. calderon's a great boxer and calzaghe is great at throwing punches that may or may not hit his opponent. the thing is it doesn't matter he wins either way!
