My take on the margo-cotto fight

Margo's body shots from round 2 on, did the trick.

The fact the announcers kept missing.

By the 6th, it turned into Margarito's fight completely whereas in the first 5 Cotto had the flashier punches but was getting punished to the body.

Margo then systematically worked downstairs then upstairs hitting anything he could and a lot.


In a rematch, Margs has the mental edge.

I don't buy that Marg's late surge after the beating he took was because he had plaster in his gloves. Not saying he didn't, because Margarito deserves that su****ion, but Margarito is always a slow starter and plaster doesn't make a person's chin take the shots Margarito did.

Margarito fought the fight of his life.

Margarito defo fought agreat fight that night, cotto couldnt deal with tony that night. But im sure if they did a rematch, that miguel would learn from his mistakes and put them right

And Paul never considered rematching him... I thought Paul won that fight 115-113 (7 rds to 5), great jab work for the first 6 rounds to keep Tony off of him and then Tony started to get through the jab finally after his body work started to kick in... Paul was 30 more secs from going to sleep that night, but his jab saved the night... PW took much more punishment that night though...

actually it's the other way around...margarita didn't want a part of Williams cuz he knew he could never beat em...
