I think a prime Holyfield could take more punishment, but I don't see him landing anything significant on the inside against James Toney. Toney's defense is too good, but I think Holyfields constant pressure would win him the UD.

he was not unstoppable. he just threw punches in bunches (most with no heat on him) and his opponents shut down, but keep in mind most of them were WEAK-MINDED opponents. look at Holyfield's best performances (the 2nd Qawi fight, Buster Douglas, George Foreman, the first Tyson fight). those guys couldn't handle having zillions of punches swarm them, but Toney showed against Jirov he can handle it well. Toney would win a UD over Holyfield

        hmm

Just look at the fuirst few rounds of when they actually fought, when Holyfield was way past his prime. It looked for a few rounds that Holyfield could overwhelm Toney.

anyone who loses to rid**** bowe is not a machine.
Wrong. Bowe was huge compared to Holyfield. Bowe was also motivated for Holy and the most-skilled heavyweight at that time. Just because Bowe ****** after Holy doesn't mean he wasn't super awesome vs Holy.

Holyfield would have demolished Toney in his prime. You seen how much trouble Toney had with Jirov. Say what you want, it was a close fight and Toney was definitely having problems. Hlyfield in his prime would throw as many punches as Jirov, except MORE precise, HARDER, and FASTER.

Anyone who really believes Toney would beat Holyfield in his prime is just a damned fool.

holyfield by ud or late stoppage,

toney's defense would not matter here, because after winning a bunch of rounds, he would not be able to use his arms anymore, after having them ****** over and over again.
prime holy style would be a problem even if jt was a natural hw: pressure fighters give trouble to master boxers

first of all, toney always starts slow, and picks up the pace. he lost the first few rounds to rydell booker and jason richardson as well, and they ended by knockout...similar to the holyfield fight. strategy perhaps?

bowe wasnt super awesome vs holy. bowe had talent, but was lazy, didnt train and was out of shape. he is big, but not good.
stop being ******. just beacause someone thinks james toney could beat evander holyfield doesnt mean they are "damned fools"

              toney doesnt get hurt
im not sure he ever has been.
even when he got knocked down, he was off balance.

ive had this argument before, and i was proven wrong. james toney really just doesnt get hurt. ud maybe, but no stoppage

                1) Yes, Bowe was awesome vs Holy.

                2) He was in shape for Holy.

I almost agree with you on your point, but you have to realize that at that level of competition it only takes getting hit flush in the right spot and ANYBODY can be ko'ed.

I've never seen Toney rocked or dropped, but I also haven't seen Toney in the ring with someone as good as Evander was in his prime, I would love to see how a fight between the two of them at either Lt. Heavy or Cruiser would have gone. My guess would be Evander by either a late rd. ko or tko or by UD.

all i said is that toney had a fighting chance, and that bowe isnt a good boxer...whats childish about that?

i understand your point, obviously, but holyfield wasnt amazingly powerful. he was strong, and had heavy hands, but wasnt a power puncher. he had a lot more tko's, which shows he has heavy ahnds and was able to put his punches together. i dont think he would be able to do that vs toney, who is a great boxer with good defense and amazing chin.
if i were to pick someone to knock toney out, it definitly wouldnt be evander
