Reading between the lines, Khan does not want this fight, why won't team Khan say how much money they offered Maidana? lets wait and see what Maidana has to say about the deal offered.

Khan don't want it with Ortiz. He better pay Maidana.

Ortiz didn't exactly quit though did he? The fight was stopped due to cuts he had sustained in the fight. If that is your arguement then Vitali Klitschko "quit" against Lennox Lewis...

His comments after the fight suggested that he felt he deserved to take an easier path than his handlers, managers, promotional company had decided for him. I don't agree with that in any way, shape or form. Though he did not, at any point, quit. Having a doctor or ref stop a fight on cuts in no way implies that a fighter has quit. It can't be that hardly to understand, surely?

The fact that he approached the doctor of his own volition is just good sense, he is a young fighter with his whole career in front of him and the doctor believed the cut was bad enough to justify stopping the fight. So Ortiz was justified in seeking a medical opinion on an injury that, if unchecked, could have repercussions for the rest of his life, let alone boxing career.

I don't think we have to worry too much about this. It will be straightened out.

Really? Khan hasn't faced a puncher as of yet and you say that he has heart, not a heart to face a puncher. If he signs for either of these fighters then I'll support him. My money is on that they are still looking for another lightweight fighter

No he quitted, there was a way out he took it and then confirmed it in the interview. I haven't wrote him off yet cause he is young and has skills.

Yes I saw Khan fight a few times in the amateurs but didn't ever see him in trouble. I've seen all his Pro fights and have been to 4 of them and never saw him in trouble except once again Michael Gomez where he was a little careless and rushed in (much like the Prescott fight). He got off the canvas and battered him though. Yes he gets caught now and again but nowhere near as much as he used to due to his speed and now very good defense since teaming up with Freddy and sparring with Pacman.

You're making out that he's struggled in his pro fights against weak opponents when that couldn't be further from the truth. If his jaw is that weak why are Sky, HBO and Golden Boy throwing so much weight behind him? Why has the World's best coach picked him up? Coincidences? No.

According to his Twitter page, Amir Khan has signed to defend his WBA light-welterweight title against interim champion Marcus Maidana on 11 December. A venue is yet to be confirmed but London’s O2 Arena is believed to be in contention. Khan’s decision will end speculation that the Bolton man wanted no part of the big-punching Maidana who has recorded 27 knockouts in his 29 wins (against a solitary defeat).

Following his first round annihilation at the hands of Bredis Prescott two years ago Khan has impressively rebuilt his career. The 23-year-old has won his last five fights and captured the WBA light-welterweight title with a unanimous points victory over Andriy Kotelnik last July. Khan has made two subsequent defences against Dimitry Salita (TKO1) and Paule Malignaggi (TKO11) on his American debut at Madison Square Garden in May.

The su****ion, however, is that Khan’s handlers, Golden Boy, have been reluctant to match Amir against anyone with a ‘dig’, until now.

The heavy-handed yet crude Maidana is straight out of the Prescott mould and poses a serious threat to Khan’s questionable chin. The Argentinean slugger won a wild up-and-downer against the once highly touted Victor Ortitz (TKO6) last June to become the WBA’s interim light-welterweight champion but recently struggled against faded veteran DeMarcus Corley, uncharacteristically settling for the scorecards (W UD 12).

Interestingly, Maidana’s sole defeat came against Andriy Kotelnik on a split decision when he previously challenged for the WBA crown in February 2009. Khan had no such problems against the Ukrainian and will be confident of outboxing Maidana when they meet.

Ortiz v Khan is actually a better fight. Khan will find it harder to outbox him. And Ortiz can throw bombs as well. If Khan wins, he will have finally beaten a puncher. I have a feeling the superior boxer will win, and whoever does gains a lot of fame. Ortiz is the star prospect of US and Khan is the same of UK.

I don't think Khan has a glass chin. Remember, he took shots against Gairy St Clair. Being destroyed by a puncher and dropped by non-punchers when you're weight drained and little leg muscle doesn't show you have a glass chin. Though I hate to say it, even in the amateurs Khan always had weak legs.
