Maidana just sold 16000 against Corley who's just a gatekeeper at this point. So he should get paid what he's worth.

Keep thinking Ortiz is just a bum, you're going to be on his nuts when he accomplishes what he can.
16,000 tickets that were priced at two potatoes for entry.

Maidana's Argentinian gate probably makes a fraction of the gate Khan can attract.

If Maidana is so confident in beating Khan, why doesnt he agree for 500 k? After he beats Khan he can then go ask for the big money.
Who gives a **** what Maidana's biggest payday is?

This isn't a purse bid, look at the past ratings on HBO and attendance and go from there. And I'm sure Khan didn't get triple the ratings that Maidana did against Cayo.

Khan has a minimum of around 1.1M and will definitely get more that that for this fight. Maidana does not and should not accept 25% of the cut just because Khan wants to be greedy and GBP wanting to appease Khan.

Give Maidana $700-800K since he's the interim titleholder and has been waiting patiently without enforcing his shot. Because if he does, I'm sure the WBA's rules state that in a purse bid the interim titleholder should get 40-50% of the bid, which would be worse for Khan. Khan will still make good money from the UK revenue.

How do you know how much they were priced?

Argentina is one of the richest South American countries. Fact remains that he sold 16000 against a gatekeeper. Khan probably hasn't even sold that.

Ehm... yes he did. Khan/Malignaggi was the most viewed HBO fight since Klitschko/Sosnowski

It should be a 60/40 split. Lets us fans go tweet THEM. Tell em what we think.

We want the fight right? Asif Vali and Amirkingkhan you know what to do just ask em nicely.

@asifvali Hey take the fight with Maidana give him a 40% cut he's the gatekeeper for the unification. You gonna do it bros inshallah

No he didn't, I said that because I had Khan's ratings in mind. It got around 1.2M viewers (FYI Cotto-Foreman beat that out afterward). I'm 100% sure that Maidana-Cayo did not get 400K viewers.

I'm pretty sure it did around 900K viewers and if you factor in the main event against Ortiz, you'd probably get an average viewership of over a million when Maidana is in the main event.

Klitschko-Sosnowski wasn't on HBO btw... That was Klitschko-Arreola.

Here goes the good old EXCUSE of a fighter overpricing himself out of a fight, it's not official(that the fight has been called off) but it seems like Khan & his team are setting scene so they won't look bad or at least try not to look bad if it's called off...

                    Marcos Maidana Statement
“Khan should take his nose from my payday”

                    By Maidana Team

Once again, as it has happened in the last few weeks, the highly anticipated fight between WBA Super Lightweight champions Amir Khan and Marcos Maidana has been bombarded by the British fighter, who keeps saying Maidana is asking for too much money. El Chino decided to answer Khan Team by telling them “don’t stick your nose where it shouldn’t be. My payday for that fight is out of your business. Just focus on your preparation and let’s meet December 11.”

“It’s ridiculous. Instead of be willing for this fight to finally happen, in the last few weeks Amir Khan has seemed to be more focused on how much I should earn. Who this guy thinks he is? He thinks he makes the rules of boxing. First, he ran scared from me during almost one year. Now he wants to be the one setting when and where we face each other. Not only that, he wants to determine what my payday should be!,” Maidana said.

“Khan should take his big nose off my own negotiations with Golden Boy Promotions and concentrate on the fight. Of course I won’t take short money for this bout since it’s a big fight. But I make it clear that I’m not overpricing myself at all since I badly want Khan next December 11,” the Argentinean added.
