So, these guys didn't want to fight because they're friends?

They're ****ing fighters for ****s sake. I could never hear athletes in other sports say, "nah, I can't play against his team because I have some friends on there".

      Ridiculous.

In every 360 show, Goossen complains and makes problems. Seems that Ward and Goossen had there own agenda all the time...................

this isnt some other sport though. "i cant play against his team bcuz i have some friends on there" isnt the same thing as "i dont want to fight one of my closest friends".

i acctully agree with the point your trying to make but comparing boxing to other sports is the only thing thats really ridiculous, u dont play boxing so its not the same.

fighting eachother has a good chance of ending their friendship depending on how it turns out, i think fighters have every right not to fight a close friend. that said these guys entered the tournament knowing they might have to fight eachother, they knew what they signed up for so now they have to deliver. if they didnt want to fight eachother they shouldnt have signed the super six contract.

That would be a big FU to the networks!!!!
            Why should they do that??

Get out of here with that corny ****. Its sporting all the same. People don't "play" bowling either, but there is still competition going on. Do bowlers not bowl each other because they are friends?

Too many over protective fans these days involved in a combat sport. Get that?

              a
              combat
              sport.

That means you take your opponent head on and try to hurt them.

They knew the risks when the got involved. If it really means that much to them, they shouldn't have been boxers in the first place. Its like a police officer complaining about the risks of his job.

Nobody made them do anything. They chose their profession on their own.

I was wondering what the deal with this fight was. I'm glad Showtime won't let them spoil this tourny. I'm thinking it will be the third week of October maybe. I doubt these guys have even started real training camps.

Ward and dirrell same as Barbie and Ken. Dirrell is Barbie though all doll like and sissified. No one cares about these two love birds closet queens. Just ban them forever from boxing period. No great loss. dirrell can always try acting or crying on cue.

This is the payback to Showtime for actually stepping up and attempting this. Showtime was actually trying to do some legit **** and they're getting **** on by the fighters and even by the fans. Everyone cry's all the time about the politics of boxing. Showtime was trying to change that and you guys act like spoiled b****.
Although written a bit harsh, I've to agree.

Both guys have signed a contract and they don't have a clause in it which prevents them from fighting each other. They simply have to fight each other, there's no way out - if they don't they've to quit. This would ruin the reputation of both fighters. The tournament is a good thing and the legal letter the right reaction. If either Ward or Dirrell aren't in preparation for the fight, this would be an absolutely amateurish behavior. Personally I think they'll take one of the scheduled dates in October and are currently training their a... off, because both know that this fight will be hell for both of them.
