Why? Ward didn't have a name before the tournament started so I'm sure Ward was begging to get in. Most people at the beginning felt that neither Dirrell or Ward should of been invited.

Both should just get in and fight. That's what they do and they knew that they would have to eventually when they signed the contract. Dirrell would be just another boring fighter who got no exposure if he didn't get invited to the tournament. The same can be said for Ward.

Can't believe that there are still posters who believe in that "We won't fight eachother, because we are friends". This is purely made up an invented to keep the two fighters in the media. There was definitely no point at all when one of the two declined to fight the other. Either this was hyped by some busy journalist or even the posters gave this "funny reason for not fighting" too much room.

What's really happening is that the venue is the point of dispute and neither Goosen nor Shaw want to give in. In Shaw's case that is only legitimate, Goosen probably counters that Oakland would make the most money. Since no one knows Ward and Dirrel in Vegas or a fanbase is not generating enough money, the fight is in limbo because there is no suitable location. That's all about it.
