you're wrong. MMA was built upon knockouts. stand up fighters became the stars of the sport, not hoyce gracie, even though he was beating everyone. tell me that people want to watch dudes dry hump more than guys kicking and punching eacothers face then i might believe the public and fight fans in general really love the wrestling aspect of the sport, but im doubting that. i still remember how many UFC fans told me Chuck Liddell would knock out anyone in boxing, and that boxing sucks. how do you think this whole debate started. ask Rogan and Dana White. saying you love boxing, only to talk **** about it while promoting your own brand is all they have ever been about. would have been more realistc of them to say they have better wrestlers in MMA than in boxing. we can all agree with that, but dont say you have better stand up fighters. and thats the real point of the debate. stand up vs ground, and here on boxing scene we like our fights standing.

This thread totally blew up in my face... My bad!
This was purely an attempt to make the game more interesting, that is all..
I would concede the fact that a Boxer who does not know how to kick, or have any sort of ground game would pretty much lose 99% of the time...
So it would be "FUN" to see both sides deal with advantages and disadvantages...
Don't overthink a hypothetical scenario that was intended to just ****e up the fight game...Last edited by cnote111; 08-30-2010, 02:50 PM.Comment

Ditto James Toney.
James Toney couldn't even get licensed to box, last I heard.
You shouldn't feel so proud of victories over half fossilized boxers. It means nothing.
Talk to me when someone taps out Wlad K., Manny Pac, Floyd, or Sergio.Comment

[QUOTE=RA-Box;9133913]False. A lot of Wrestlers prefer shoes in a MMA fight. Look below
Yes I'm sure some wrestlers would prefer it, but the fact that it is banned outright is beneficial for no one but wrestlers.
It disables on ground mobility for boxers, and limits the foot as a weapon for kickers (strikers).
Wrestlers can still do everything they do, regardless of whether or not they have shoes on.
If you want to play that game then boxers can still do everything they do as well with no shoes.
In fact Brazilian Jiu Jitsu are also at a disadvantage because they have no Gi on.Comment

Who the *** is stopping the boxer from learning how to defend it? Nobody is stopping him!!!
You think a straight kick boxer or straight Mu Thai fighter knows how to stop take downs? No!!! They had to learn just like a boxer does!!
Seriously you ass hats act like Boxing is the only form of striking used in MMA it's not! There are lots of fighters in MMA that want to keep the fight standing who are not boxers. They took the time to learn take down defense so what the *** is stopping boxers from learning the same thing?
Sounds to me like you are just making excuses for boxers to be lazy.Comment
