Did ju jitsu guys ask for special rules?

Did wrestlers ask for special rules?

Did Karate or kickboxers ask for special rules?

So why should a boxer get special rules?

      Dumb ***ing thread!!!

      Exactly

How about Toney takes on Couture in a Wrestling match?

Sorry guys. Saturday night we saw a Wrestler with 10+ years of cross training take on a boxer with 9 months of cross training

Wrestler destroyed him. Not a big surprise

Doesn't mean a prime boxer who actually learns ground fighting can't have success

CroCop was a kick boxer who got up to #2 HW status

MMA is the sport of fighting. Boxing is the sport of punching

Doesn't make either one worse or better,...just different

How about just pure streetfight....you know the one with eye gouging and you can hit ball-sacs. This is the reason why wresting is irrelevant in real street fighting.

Let's make it clear here to people who are posting that MMA is the even field for all Combat.

MMA is NOT a level playing field for Combat Arts and is NOT a representation of actual fighting.

Two factors that I can think of right off the top of my head. No shoes, and the composition of the Mat.

Which style would benefit from participants not wearing shoes? Wrestling!

Which style would benefit from a soft-style mat (Anything other than concrete)? Wrestling!

MMA favors wrestling in its setup, which is why wrestling is slowly but surely dominating MMA.

If you were to have the EXACT SAME Rules, but on concrete with shoes allowed, then stand-up fighting (most likely Savate, look it up) would dominate the sport.

You cannot use MMA as it exists now as a marker for what an Even Playing Field for Combat is supposed to be.

If you enjoy watching high-level wrestling matches, then by all means be a fan of MMA.

Boxing when matched properly is more a test of Will. That is why the matches need to be 12 rounds (and they used to be 15).

Two completely different sports, neither one's rules can be considered an Even Playing Field for Combat.

                Even playing field???
                Really???
So a boxer that is not use to being able to use his legs and throw someone to the ground and hug and ****
but its still fair and an even playing field right?

False. A lot of Wrestlers prefer shoes in a MMA fight. Look below

Lets get this simple and plain, an mma fighter will beat a boxer 99 times out of 100

get it through your head. Look at Art Jimmerson, Francois Botha, Ray Mercer, James Toney. They all make fools of themselves

Throwing a boxer in an MMA fight is not an even playing field at all... The cage alone favors MMA. The above thread states 99 times out of 100 a boxer would lose.. I would like to even those odds for pure entertainment.

I hate Boxing VS MMA or anything related because they are two different sports; however, the attempt i was trying to make was how could we make it that much more evenly matched or more entertaining to see a boxer vs mma.. NOT a kick boxer or any other form that uses their feet. Just a boxer...

I think it would a lot of fun to have the rounds split up... There is no way it favors the boxer in the format i proposed..

This idea was to be a different competition all in itself... Just to see which side could survive in one anothers strenghts and weaknesses..

You ****s take everything so damn serious....
