I agree kind of. Lewis would cuase more problems for Holmes than he would for Ali. Larry had tendency to drop the left pretty low and was always open to a big right. Lewis has a big right hand. I would still pick Larry to outbox Lewis and win a close unanimous dec..but there is danger there for Holmes.

Against Ali..Lewis would have alot of trouble finding Ali. Easy win for Ali IMO

There is no way a prime Ali could lose a decision to a fighter as slow as Lewis. He would be an easy target, and Ali would dance around and make fun of Lewis for round after round, punishing him with lightening fast combinations. Lewis would not have the reflexes to avoid the embarrasing beating he would receive.

Lewis would have to knock Ali out in order to win, and considering the fact that big punchers like Liston, Foreman, Frazier and Shavers couldn't do it, I can't see Lewis pulling it off either.

Muhammad Ali by UD or late ko.
Well said. I totally agree with you. Anything Lewis did Ali did better. ring generalship, jab, feint, hook, inside fighting and just speed. Lewis would have a power advantage but that would be it. And like M26 said Lewis would not have the power of a Foreman or Shavers who could not knock Ali out. (here is some good Karma for you)

and i said that ali's superior talent would overcome lewis's size

What is Lewis's power like, comparatively? I remember reading a "vs." list somewhere (thing it was a Ring special) and it had Lewis down as being physically stronger than Foreman. (I know that's not the same as punch power, but still...)

Remember when Ali fought Frazier and Foreman he was not in his prime. I say prime Ali is right around the Cleveland Williams match. If you haven't seen it than watch it and you might change your mind. Remember he had the titles stripped and he was unable to box for about 2 years. Came back got into some sort of shape after fighting some fights and then faced Frazier for the first time. It's all about timing, and since this is prime vs prime there isn't any. Prime Ali would beat a prime Lewis.

IMO Lennox punches harder than Foreman but he boxes so safe...

If he can be a boxer-puncher he can easily beat Ali IMO..
