I guess that you were not ready for the answer, or you just asked a question that the response made you look bad.

The perfect example that I can relate to Caballero is Hopkins. Hopkins has always been a good fighter with lots of accomplishments but it was not until his 30's that he reach big paydays and popularity and he did it by facing for a lot less money the most recognized fighter in those divisions which was Tito.

This is not comparing the popularity of Tito to Juanma, just giving an example of what good fighters sometime have to do to become great or at least acheive better paydays. Once again, Caballero still has time but is not getting younger to keep pricing himself out of fights. The same way I donlt compare Juanma to Tito, Caballero is no Hopkins, ad his watch coninues to click faster.
good call with the comparison to bhops situation pre tito. but in celestino's defense, you can't take the short end when it isn't even offered. realize that the only time one of the big promoters gave him a shot at one of their fighters was when he fought ponce deleon. and he only got that shot because gbp thought he was ann easy fight. even though he earned the title shot against izzy in that fight, he has been blatantly ducked by gbp and arum ever since. he has only become vocal recently. he couldn't get the bigger fights by actually doing his job in the ring, so he has had to revert to other means in an attempt to get what he has earned.

Agreed and he is doing a good job by getting vocal, but getting vocal only would not help. He needs to get lower on his demands even if this is taking the short end with no guaranteed.

Let's put it this way. If Caba continues with his demands, Juanma and Gamboa will continue to fight each other or guys like John, Marquez, Salido Rojas, and/or move up in weight, during the next 3 years and while doing this winning biggest share of the purse because all those fighters will accept to fight them for a smaller purse.

In the meantime Caba does not get his payday and turns 37. Do you get my point???

With his demands Caba has a lot to lose. In the meantime Juanma and Gamboa will continue to make money.

He's not that willing if he's asking for the kind of money Marquez (a Mexican) would've made on a Sept. 18. If he really wants the fight, he needs to get real about the money. I do think it'd take a miracle for Arum to put Juanma up against him and I want to see the fight, but he's giving Top Rank the "Caba is pricing himself out" excuse on a silver platter.
