Ain't that the truth. And I hate Santos for being such an undisciplined fighter (professional) and doing absolutely nothing with the talent he has. Duddy is more or less the same level but Santos (so far) has a much, much better resume.

The highest payable fights for Cotto are Marg rematch, Pac rematch or a fight with PBF. Pac and Marg are fighting in November and Floyd probably still thinks Puerto Rico is too far away. Guys like Berto, Williams, Martinez, Angulo are all credible fights, but neither of those guys are going to bring in Chavez money. The guy is a bigger draw than Margarito was when he fought Cotto and Cotto is the 3rd biggest draw behind Pac and Pbf. Add in the fact that its a relatively safe fight based on the amount of money he's getting. This could be on PPV, if Cotto was going to face Williams or Martinez, it'd be a much tougher fight for far less money and more than likely on HBO. If this does Cotto vs Marg it'll do 500k buys and Cotto would rake in about 5-7 million not counting the the gate.

The only reason I'm unsure if this fight is going to be on PPV is because the Pac/Marg fight is only a month before. Back to back PPV doesn't sound like that will help buys much, if that was the case I'd push it back to Jan and make it the first fight of next year on PPV. I hope they put it on HBO, but I can understand why they wouldn't there is a lot of money to be made in this fight. That being said Cotto SHOULD win this fight but it isn't going to be easy I don't think. Roach is going to train Chavez to pressure Cotto like a mad man and Steward is going to train Cotto to box his ass off. Chavez is going to have his moments, but Cotto is just the better more experienced fighter. This fight is going to test Cotto's heart again more than anything, he'll be at home with possibly the biggest guy he's ever faced. Chavez is a big guy about 6' tall and he'll weigh about 165-170 on fight night.

However, its exactly the fight Cotto needs to train him for the big guys at 154. Angulo, Margarito and Williams all have a similar style and we can all agree they are all better than Chavez. Its not the toughest fight out there, but just like PBF loves to say the fights have to make sense and this one does for both fighters. If Chavez wins he'll will INSTANTLY replace Cotto as to who is behind Manny and Floyd in terms of drawing power.

I dont think Chavez is a "bum" I just dont think he will win, and if he does I will be surprised and have no excuses. There is no way to say he is drained bc he is fightin at 154 so no excuses if he loses thats jsut bc he wasnt good enough to win, but i doubt that will happen.

Obvously you never seen Cotto fight or you have a twisted way of looking at things..¿Hype? ¿Fighting the best fighters at 140lbs & 147lbs is hype!? Maussa, Torres & Malignaggi were undeafeated when they faced Cotto at 140lbs & along with N'Dou(another Cotto victim at 140) they all became champions after being defeated by Cotto! & at 147lbs Cotto took on the cream of the crop! Yea Cotto beat the same old Mosley the beat the S H I T out of Margarito & it's funny that you say Cotto isn't very quick, yet Cotto was beating to the punch & looked faster then Mosley the night he beat him.. & Judah was still considered serious game when he faced Cotto & Judah's only KO defeats came at the hands of Kosta Tszyu & Cotto..& in the fight against Clottey, Cotto suffered a cut from a head butt & it was clear he couldn't see out of his left eye & was eating right hands all night & Cotto could have taken the easy way out early in the fight by telling the Doctor he couldn't see & win an easy decision (the Doctor started coming to Cotto's corner from the 5th round on to ask if he wanted to continue) yet Cotto decided to continue..Even thou I thought Cotto won a close decision(not how the judges saw it) If it wasn't for that cut, Cotto would have boxed circles around Clottey!! ¿& Glass Chin? When Cotto faced Randal Bailey, at the time 27 of Bailey's 28 wins had came by KO & in the 2nd round Bailey hit Cotto with a devastating straight right hand right on Cotto's jaw(Till this day Cotto says that's the hardest he's been ever hit!) & Cotto did not go down & went on to win by KO in the 6th round! & in the Pacquiao fight Cotto didn't give up, the ref was the 1 who stopped the fight in the 12th round!!! You need to take a WAY BETTER LOOK AT THINGS!!!!
