Guys like Berto, Williams, Martinez, Angulo are all credible fights, but neither of those guys are going to bring in Chavez money. The guy is a bigger draw than Margarito was when he fought Cotto and Cotto is the 3rd biggest draw behind Pac and Pbf. Add in the fact that its a relatively safe fight based on the amount of money he's getting. This could be on PPV, if Cotto was going to face Williams or Martinez, it'd be a much tougher fight for far less money and more than likely on HBO. If this does Cotto vs Marg it'll do 500k buys and Cotto would rake in about 5-7 million not counting the the gate.

The only reason I'm unsure if this fight is going to be on PPV is because the Pac/Marg fight is only a month before. Back to back PPV doesn't sound like that will help buys much, if that was the case I'd push it back to Jan and make it the first fight of next year on PPV. I hope they put it on HBO, but I can understand why they wouldn't there is a lot of money to be made in this fight. That being said Cotto SHOULD win this fight but it isn't going to be easy I don't think. Roach is going to train Chavez to pressure Cotto like a mad man and Steward is going to train Cotto to box his ass off. Chavez is going to have his moments, but Cotto is just the better more experienced fighter. This fight is going to test Cotto's heart again more than anything, he'll be at home with possibly the biggest guy he's ever faced. Chavez is a big guy about 6' tall and he'll weigh about 165-170 on fight night.

However, its exactly the fight Cotto needs to train him for the big guys at 154. Angulo, Margarito and Williams all have a similar style and we can all agree they are all better than Chavez. Its not the toughest fight out there, but just like PBF loves to say the fights have to make sense and this one does for both fighters. If Chavez wins he'll will INSTANTLY replace Cotto as to who is behind Manny and Floyd in terms of drawing power.

I do agree with you 100%, there are much better much up for these guys, but in reality, this is the best match up in terms of PPV. Of course second only to PBF or Pac.

I don't know if Jr is ready for this fight. I mean, beating John Duddy is cool, but stepping into fight Cotto is truthfully a big climb up in competition. You gotta factor experience, overall ability, and power Cotto's gonna bring in that fight. Can Jr still make 154 with no problems? Can he deal with adversity against a guy who can finish you?

I don't know...I think Jr will land some shots, but I see Cotto giving Chavez a lot to deal with and experience will play a factor.

      Cotto by late stoppage

Unfortunately, the same will be said about Jr if Cotto blitzes him too.

                  Neither is Chavez

                  Foreman
1--On the Cotto fight, Foreman was ranked as the # 6 junior-middleweight in the world according to The Ring Magazine.
2--Foreman had also beaten Daniel Santos Which is better than anybody JCC Jr have fought so far.
3--Foreman also had a real title coming into the fight

                  Chavez Jr.
1--Not rank at top 10 even with a 41-0-1 record (41 Taxi cab drivers)
2--Chavez was found to have used an illegal diuretic, furosemide, a banned medication, to make weight
3--Beat a guy name Doo Doo or Duddy
was given a shady draw against a nobody call Carlos Molina and a free pass when he fought that other tomatoe can, Matt Vanda.
