The fight could have gone either way and you can make a solid case for both men, it was a tale of 2 fights kind of like Freitas vs. Casamayor.

Hopkins has no one to blame but himself, he showed the green rookie way too much respect and he gave away many early rounds by throwing very few punches.

Jermains right hand did not land flush but what it did was tell NArd to back off and back off is what he did. After 7 rounds I turned to a friend and said Taylor is winnnig this fight easily...at that point it changed dramatically and NArd took over but in the end Hopkins has no one to blame but himself, you cant throw 20 punches around and expect to win...against Eastman and Oscar he got away with this but Taylor was a different animal.

the rematch will be better than the first fight and is a complete u pcikem. cant wait!

Hopkins won the fight hands down. Roy knew it & Kellerman knew it & they had the balls to go against the grain with their take on the fight. Stewart even knew it because of all the crap he talked before the fight & he looked very sheepish in his segment post fight.

if hopkins comes back and beats taylor, tarver and jones, which i think he will, he will go down in top 3 middleweights of all time. currently if he retired he'd probably be 5th or even 4th top middleweight of all time.

what you taylor fanbois are missing is that you should respect Bernard for taking the fight in the first place. He decided to fight the young bull and bring fans the fight they all wanted to see, you shouldnt take that for granted.. Most 40 year old boxers would duck taylor but b-hop "BRING IT ON" ****in legendary.

you have to understand how lucky we are to be in this era and witness a 40 year old man with the skills like bernard accepting a young bulls challenge like that.

Hopkins will not brawl in the first half of the fight coz he knows he's 40 yrs old. That would be unwise and every veteran fighter knows this. And brawling is Hopin's domain, IMO. Boxing is Jermain's. However, Hopkins can box too. He'll figure out his opponent. Let them get comfy with their combos after a few rounds. Then BAM! Hopkins steals the show.

And as for Taylor losing a lot of blood, okay, he wasn't bleeding profusely. Not enough to make him tired. He was tired coz he got punch drunk by Hopkins' right fist. Now, remember, I still score the fight for Taylor. But Hopkins did turn on the heat and even the score cards say the same. How Hopkins lost the last round, I just don't see it.

Should have been a draw, IMO. That's they way I saw it.

True. And keep it simple, remember, Taylor was not a mandatory. BHops sought the "young bull".

Now Taylor can show us what he's got. Let's see is he can "defend" the Middle titles, if he decides to stay weight. I'm sure he'll hang-out at Middle for the rematch, whcih Nard wins. I also pick Eastman to beat Taylor, unless Taylor chooses to duck him.

Sorry a draw is still a nut-hugger. You sure sound like an Hopkins fan.
