anyone think this fight ruined Taylor? I read his left eye was swollen, he was cut and bleeding, AND almost got KTFO!

I think if there is a rematch B-Hop ends his career *cough* fernando vargas *cough* lolz.

If you do then i find it highly unlikely that you really watched the fight.

I just can't see this fight going to Hopkins...I just can't. He caught up in the late rounds but didn't deserve the win, and on points I still give it to Jermain. Jermain fought a Winky-esque fight, staying behind his jab and getting enough in to win rounds. Doesn't matter if 8/10 of his punches didn't land, they were still more than hopkins 0/0, you know? He kept Hopkins from getting inside on him most of the time and when he did get in he nailed him with enough shots to force Bernard to clinch before he could get his own throw through.

The last three rounds I chalk up to nerves. Literally as soon as I started thinking that Jermain was looking too excited about the prospect of winning Hopkins through him across the ring with those shots in the 10th. Jermain has never even come close to this level before and it must have been hard to hold it together.

Points wise I'd give Jermain 7 or 8 rounds. Hopkins just didn't do enough work. I know that that's his style, and, you know, Hopkins has been my #1 favourite for a while now, but he didn't deserve the win on this night.

Hopkins won't fight again more than twice. Hell his whole plan was to beat Taylor and set up one more big superfight.

The guy CANNOT stay young forever.

as has been stated by others, it was a close fight, but i thought Hopkins won. taylor was busier early but hopkins landed the better quality of punches. per jim lampley, one of the judges gave the 12th to Taylor. how you can manage to give taylor the 12th is beyond me. taylor probably lost a lot of energy from being over hyped and a lot more from swinging for the fences with some of his punches. evan when taylor was busier, i felt hopkins was in control.

Hopkins stoled his soul. And you can tell Taylor doesnt have the heart of killer that u need in boxing. Hes a nice guy and all but if u have followed his fights in interviews he always seem to not have all that swager and confidence that boxer needs.
