I keep hearing about mistakes and he just has to try harder but when you've been in a handful of big fights and you've only managed to do what it takes to win once... that says something about the caliber fighter you are period. The guy just can't pull the trigger and if some of you guys actually thought that the pac fight could even be potentially competitive then Clottey is overrated.

If Andre Berto = Jermain Taylor then Joshua Clottey = Acelino Freitas with a chin.

Taylor was actually much better than Berto. I am not very high on Clottey either as a top WW, but I do think he is better than Berto who gets praised and is seen as an elite WW, when he hasn't ever faced an elite fighter in his career.

Clottey keeps fooling the masses. Yeah, we know he has great skills - when will people realize that it doesn't matter??? He has a FEAR OF SUCCESS and if you show any heart, he usually folds. He has many ways of folding btw (claim injury, start headbutting or flat out go into a shell) and has done ALL of those things more than once. Sometimes he does two or three of them . The sad thing is, Clottey should be able to destroy a Berto. But he wouldn't. He wouldn't even come close.

For the record I called for a 11-1 whitewash, in that fight, since styles make fights. i think Reed can attest to that.

Lol naw I think Clottey's B- or a B fighter given the right fighter. By right fighter i mean a very poorly conditioned fighter.

This is a triumph of HBO's clout in the sport and its marketing muscle. Andre Berto is a mirage of a real fighter, who much like HBO has done with Mayweather, convinced a segment of the fight public that these guys are legit fighters.
