1st of all, who have any of these 2 fought at 154lbs to earn a shot at the vacant WBC title? Why is there even a top 10 ranking list if it doesn't mean ****!? & this catch weight crap that Pacroid keeps on pulling everytime he wants to go up in weght is BULL****!! Well said! And before that Pacalytes start screaming that this is only (technically) Pac's 2nd fight at a catchweight, it comes on the heels of Roach making this big claim that the Cotto thing at 145 was just a one-off...inferring that future fights will honor the max limit. I personally never thought I would see the day that a vacant title (green strap at that) would be on the line for a catchweight that is closer to the WW limit than to the LMW limit. At least place it at 151 so you can give us fans some satisfaction in buying into this farce. So there it is, a guy never fighting above 147 versus the Tijuana Funnel Cloud whose most notable apperance at 154 was getting peppered by a plodder named Santos. NFL in 5 1/2 weeks, can't wait as my former favorite sport of Boxing has played itself out with abusing catchweight bouts and producing an obsolete product.

fight at the weight every other boxer fight at or don't fight in that division, Im sorr but Pac is looking like a pure punk trying to cheat history. CAll Floyd what you will but Pac still is what he is.....looking for the easier way to make history and only the Filipinos will act like its ok.

PAC should go after PWILL after MARG.

PAC should stay at 147 and whoop everyone's ass there... he should take on MARG, and given he wins, go after P.WILLIAMS.. since PWILL is finally gaining some fame. As for "FLOYD".. well.. only real "men" should be considered when it comes to who fights who.

I don't understand the people who are defending this fight. You can bring up DLH and Hopkins and any other fighters who have fought at catchweights and it still does not temper the bull**** behind this fight. If anything your points only fortify the argument that something is really wrong in the sport- this fight being the latest example.

Arguments on both sides are equally tainted with bias for either Pac or Floyd and they get nowhere. As fans you're letting your support for a fighter serve as blinders. Try not putting a face on this catchweight match and chances are you're going to find it hard to defend. It's like defending the financial bailout the U.S. gave to Wall Street: We're funneling money into the pockets of a greedy and corrupt system in the name of support, but in the end we get nothing for our dedication as fans except more $55 PPV's with horrible undercards and tailored title fights. It's bull**** and it's condescending to us as fans. How are you going to defend that? I want to see the best fight the best. I want to feel like my support and love of this sport actually meant something. I want to feel like I'm part of a fanbase that knows when to say enough is enough and let these promoters feel it in their pockets when they don't serve. And to hell with titles. This is why Boxing has become a fringe sport.

And the new wave of unforgiving fans has alot to do with this. These days fans will drop a fighter after a loss and claim a fighter was exposed or never really that good to begin with. When a fighter knows he has a solid and commited fanbase, that fighter will be more prone to taking the chances fighters should be taking.

I'm not buying this fight. And I'm not buying anymore tailored matches that don't nurture the sport and pull it from the margins.

You know what Fitz, if the belt commission allows it, they're to blame and not Arum or Pacquiao. They are catering to him and his ego. If they simply said no catch weight, it'd be the end of the discussion. Either way I don't expect much of a fight either way. Margorito will surprise people with a crucial KO, or Pac-man will do what he did to Clottey and just beat him up with speed. Either way, snoozefest.

The bigger wag of the finger goes to Mayweather's camp, with this pathetic attempt at trying to save face WEEKS after Arum first talked about on going negotiations. Amazing how none of this surfaced prior to the well publicized deadline.

As a side note, if Floyd's not interested in taking a fight til next year, that's respectable. The amount of time and energy it takes to train for a fight can take it's toll. But who here thinks this trip to PR will lead to a match with Cotto sometime this fall/winter? If it gets announced, no one will be able to deny Mayweather ducked Pacquiao. Twice.

how was pac ducked twice, first pac walked away from the table to fight clottey. and you never heard floyd or anyone from his camp make any statement re: a fight with pac. in fact the only people talking fight was bob arum and pacs camp. trust, i want to see this fight just like everyone else. but floyd nor any body connected with floyd said they were talking with bob arum. arum already had cheato on tap and the papers are already signed. all along he wanted pac vs cheato.

Be it far from me to to argue boxing history, but I thought De la Hoya made the fight for 147 and that was the weight he came in on !??

I was under the impression that Pacs ONLY catchweight fight was with COTTO? And you are crying about coming in at 150 which is within the bounds for super welter ? Margo is happy !! YES ?

One other thang mister LYLE: If another Game fighter named Margarito gets his mind right and he will, and gets in fantastic shape and he will and climbs into the ring without a monster hitch on him like in the Mosley fight that took his legs as well as that wicked right to the body from Mosley in the first, and if perchance he takes the shots from Pac then all one need to remember is the Cotto fight, he takes a terrible shot and keeps on ticking under the right circumstance. He is fighting for redemption, he is focused , he will come in at his best and his best is to take what you have and walk you down.

I believe Pac will get him but if he don't the last 4 rounds will be some of the best we will get to see in a good while. It just may not be lopsided !!!!!! This just may be the fight of Manny's life. Sometime he's got to hae one !! Mayweather will never be able to do to Manny what Margo is aiming to do, and that is walk Pac down after taking his shots and do to Pac what he did to Cotto and we know he wasn't loaded in that fight !!

if pac will fight all comers, then why wont he fight shane mosley? i dont want to see pac fight cheato. i want to see pac vs shane at 147 and i bet thats the fight most want to see. or pac vs bradley. give the fans what they want. we want to see real fights. not fight with made up divisions for belts undeserved. arum is using pac and making him look bad. i think pac would fight shane but roach and arum wont allow it.

As they say it if Plan A, is not possible then, implement Plan B.

WBC approves and sanction the Title fight of pacMAN-Margarito,
so I don't see any problem as far as legality is concern.

Margarito has already served his 1 year suspension,
so it is his right that he should be given a chance to fight pacMAN.

Both of the fighters happens to be under Top Rank Promotion,
and so its just natural that Arum would protect his interest.

Thats reality today in Boxing business.
