Catchweight is ok as long as the wbc and margarito agree.

No such thing as a 154lb title. Its called a JMW title, and that is anything above 147 - 154.

Don't get all technical with me. Do you think I don't know that?

        Do you really?

If the guys are too big at JR MW division... which has a maximum weight of 154lbs... then don't fight there.

        Simple as.

If you want to come in light, then so be it.

But let the opponent weigh in at the maximum weight of the weight class.

        Especially for a title.

Don't pull that technicality bull**** with me.

Exactly, so don't restrict Margarito to a 150 weight limit.

Let Margarito come in at 154. Its not like the four pounds will help him anyways.

It is what it is. Catchweights have been taking place for decades in our sport. It didnt start with Pac. All I was doing was pointing out that there's no such thing as a 154lb title. That's all. No need to get your panties in a bunch.

No need to get technical when you are fully aware that it's the same damn thing.

Jw. MW title = 154lb title.

Same thing... I called it something different.

And, you knew exactly what I mean when I said it, just like anyone else who read it.

So pointing it out isn't necessary.

I also don't care how long it's been happening.

Let the opponent weigh in at the limit of the weight class, especially for a title.

If you choose to come in light, then that's your prerogative.

Additionally, don't use a catchweight as a negotiating tool. Catcthweights historically gave fighters 12-15 lbs apart a chance to match skills evenly. The 160 lb champ 40 yrs ago may have only weighed 154 lbs because there was no 154 lb division.

Catchweights should not be used like glove size or ring size!
