Not asking for catchweight is ridiculous

I just realize this whole fight is ridiculous.. it is so mismatch than ODLH vs Pacquiao..
Margarito‎ is 5'11 he is a giant compare to Pacquiao.. remember how Pacquiao wanted to fight Margarito‎ we all think "no way.. this fight isn't happening.. Margarito‎ is too big"? Pacquiao is requesting to fight in a catch weight and now everyone seems to against it.. I mean c'mon the fight should not been taken place to begin with.. and you thought ODLH was bad.. Margarito‎ is alot taller than him...
Im sick and tired of ppl here bashing Pacquiao about catch weight.. This fight should at the very LEAST fight in a catch-weight..

It not about non of that. People are mad when you fight for belts and titles at a catchweight.

But not for the 154 lb title. If this was just a fight, no title at stake then fine. If the fight is for the 154 lb title fight at 154 lbs. plain and simple. If you can't win the title at the max division weight then maybe you dont' belong in that division.

There's no such thing as a 154lb title. Its called a JMW title, and that falls anywhere between 148-154lbs.

I'll bet you can talk yourself into anything.

But you're right. The fighters cannot exceed the limit of 154. Arbitrarily limiting them to anything LESS THAN the division limit is angling for something the camp or fighter thinks he could not do otherwise.

Of course, this is against margachito, so I am not as incensed about it as I was when it was against Cotto.

You are wrong. The title is defined by the weight limit, not the range. A fighter weighing less than 154 lbs is eligible to fight for and win the jr middleweight belt title. If you weigh 146 you can win the 154lb title, if you weigh 155 you can't.

Then you should be allowed to fight at 154.

It would be like challenging Usain Bolt to 100 meter sprint, but first to 65 meter mark wins. It defeats the purpose of calling it a 100 meter race

But given the size disadvantage, its pretty fair. If anything, Pac is the one at a disadvantage.

Then the title shouldn't be up for grabs.

No one is complaining about the fight itself but the manner in which it is conducted.
