mayweather, on the contrary, has made an art out of picking guys on their way down, or never any good, or with some other glaring flaw. He ALWAYS, wants, needs, and gets, a specific edge.

NOTHING could point this up more than the infamous Corrales "fight" where the poor guy, demented by debt, legar burdens, family disintegration, and looming prison, was in the middle of a downward life spiral, when, on top of all the foregoing, was tempted and enticed to fight at 130 lbs- a weight he'd found impossible to achieve, and had abandoned 6-8 months before.

The poor guy was dying on his feet, well noted and documented by several writers, one in particular who noted especially that ........"he made a few trips to the scales, and had to be helped away. His bones were sticking out all over, his skin was grey, and he could barely walk. I knew, then and there, that even though he was the favorite to win, he had no chance". I'm paraphrasing only slightly. It was a well known fact amongst the buys in the business, like Larry Merchant, who commented on it, and stated, in astonishment, that on passing Corrales' dressing room, just before the fight, had seen him "sitting there, stuffing a huge hamburger into his mouth".....

I was keenly awaiting the result of this fight, and was horrified at the spectacle. I've never forgotten it, nor the way in which Gary Shaw treated his supposed, prized fighter.

      Never will.
edgard...STFU. Corrales stayed at 130 all the way to 04(though he did go to lw twice in those 3 years).

Well. I disagree. I think Mannys resume and legacy is greater than Floyds atm. Not by a great deal but still clearly. And i'm a fan of Floyd and cant stand circus Pacquiao.

          Have to be objective tho.

You have to line up the guys Manny fought and compare to the ones Floyd fought. Thats all. If you go name by name, Manny has fought better guys, and if you disagree, prove otherwise by posting the more marquee W's on both sides.
Not to mention both guys stated and fought at completely different weight classes at different points in thier careers

and as said, can manny get through floyds resume with a zero? b/c floyd can get through mannys with one but manny couldnt get through his own
Manny has been an underdog in some fights. Floyd has had only two fights were he was considered close o an underdog or the fight atleast close to a coinflip. Vs Hernandez and Corrales.

Thereby, Manny has challenged himself more.

Yeah, but that's because Floyd went the amateur way while Manny didn't. Not sure if that matters. Theyre both small guys compared to the bigger welters and are quite similar in that way.

dude, what does being the underdog have to do with anything? is it floyds fault that hes always been considered great and always win?

how has manny challenged himself more when all of his big fights have been against over the hill fighters, or roachs has made sure to beat them on the scale before getting in the ring?

im goign to ask you again, can manny make it through floyds resume and retain a zero when he couldnt even do it with his weaker resume?

can floyd make it through mannys with a zero?

this only means that Mayweather has always been on top in the p4p rankings.
