How about having some class by introducing yourself before typing comments like "****-rider" on your keypad. I'm not here to argue with anyone. It should be 50/50 simply because they are two world class fighters who the world wants to see fight. If you want to base it on opposition, we all know who would get the bigger split then. DON'T WE? Pay-per-view discussion numbers get you nowhere, it's a pointless discussion. I could make arguments either way for why one fighter deserves the 60-40 split over the other. Comparing recent PPV fights is also pointless because we're talking apples to oranges when we compare a fight like Pacquiao-Clottey (an uncompetitive match-up on paper against a notoriously unentertaining and relatively unheralded fighter) to Mayweather-Mosley (a big step up for the undefeated Floyd against the always entertaining, likable and well-known Mosley). If you don't agree with me, just try imagining how different the PPV numbers for these fights might have been had it been Mayweather-Clottey or Pacquiao-Mosley. My gut tells me they'd probably be pretty similar (and maybe lower for both fights).

When we're talking about Floyd and Manny fighting, we are not talking about the individual fighters themselves drawing a crowd; we are talking about the match-up itself selling tickets. Every boxing fan is going to be watching this fight. Does it really matter who has the biggest drawing power when every boxing fan in the world is going to be paying attention to the fight? I don't think it does, and I don't think past PPV buys will speak at all to the selling ability of this fight. 50/50 is a fair split in my mind.

Let's hope this fight goes through, if not by November then at least for May.

How can someone call themselves a professional writer but take such an unjust stance on a situation without clear evidence or an educated approach on the subject. Noone has a clue whats in that contract. Everyone knows Bob Arum is scum....everyone knows he clearly hates Floyd since their needed departure. Manny is usually tight lipped in all other fights including negotiations for the 1st attempt for this fight. The gag order is obviously BS. And Im sure that contract is as well. How can you say "we are pushing hard for this fight" and then in your next breath say, "Cotto and Margacheato are waiting for the negotiations to fall through". What warrants Marg the right to fight Manny let alone for a damn title? And why is Arum using Cotto just to get Manny another title at a different weight class. Why not fight Berto, Alexander, Bradley, or someone the public is willing to see him fight. Also, the bickering over this fight is absolutely childish....
