Did Team Pac Duck Mosley?

In a lot of cases, fighters who have been ko'd in severe fashion or beaten as bad as Cotto was-are effected. They are more weary and take less risk (Jermain Taylor is a fair and recent example).Talk about twisting it how you like.... geeez
So your saying once a fighter is KO'd he's never the same? Pac's been KO'd and come back stronger.
Mosley KO'd a mentally weak Marg (his mind would have been thinking about the penalties his career was gonna get that whole fight). That and the style was perfect for Mosely.
Cotto may have taken a beating from Marg but he had long enough to get over it, had a tune up fight n then fought Clottey and won. There's no excuses for his loss, even Cotto said himself said he wasn't weight drained. 145 suited him best in terms of speed when fighting Pac.
After Cotto got beat up for the first time, most people (at the time) were questioning how he would come back...we got the Jennings fight and he looked hesitant,we got the Clottey fight where he looked piss-poor....tbh,I wasn't impressed at the Yuri/Cotto fight either.Cotto used to fight more dynamic and was a bit faster...so yes,in a a lot of cases severe defeats will change the fighter.Comment

So taking Mosley into account then.... were you impressed with his wins and performances prior to the Margo fight???? How did he look to you? Do you think Marg's mental state in the Mosley fight would have affected his performance???In a lot of cases, fighters who have been ko'd in severe fashion or beaten as bad as Cotto was-are effected. They are more weary and take less risk (Jermain Taylor is a fair and recent example).

No-he fought Oscar at JMW!!! Then he fought the undefeated Ricky Hatton...(and before we hear how he must have been out of his weight, let's not forget that he never lost at this weight and if anything,he had an easier time making 147 than 140,because he balloons up massively between fight...not to mention that he fought the same way and still held all of his attributes).Like I said, a few weeks ago this exact EXPOSED thread came up..... a lot of Floyd fans responded like you but at the end they all disappeared as this video was EXPOSED as just a Manny hater video.
Manny fought Oscar and Cotto as his first 2 fights at WW .... Roach even admitted that at times he felt that it was going to be too much for Manny to try to beat these bigger WW fighters but he eventually thought it thru with a good game plan. If Manny wouldn't have fought Oscar and/or Cotto they would have used (out of context) that too in that exposed video because Roach stated similar questions/concerns
If you think that Manny ducked then what can you possibly think of Floyd? Floyd has been at WW for 5-6 years ..... yet he fought 3 guys who were not categorized as true WW ........
Did Floyd fight an Oscar in his first fight as WW? No!!! He even needed a tune up fight after his layoff.....
Did he fight a Cotto as his 2nd? A Clottey as his 3rd?
All those 3 that I mentioned would have beaten and some actually did against Floyd's first 3 fighters .... lol!!!
Funny that you use Freddie's word as relevant and honest when you see fit,yet in a video,in his own words why they didn't want Shane, you make up some theory like it didn't happen.Last edited by damned1974; 07-10-2010, 02:55 AM.Comment

You either did an honest mistake and see/hear/read Freddie's remarks taken out of context or you are being biased. Roach had to pick between Cotto (Arum guy) and Mosley (GBP guy) and thought he can make more money with Cotto while for close to the same risk but less money fight a Mosley.
Roach and Arum decided on Cotto. Mosley fight had no chance in hell of happening before the Cotto fight.
So you need to take it all in context.... imagine hearing one say, I ducked Mosley but I fought Cotto and Oscar as my first two fights. Something just doesn't sound right if you really think about it clearly...... and that is without taking into account all the other fighters that Manny has not ducked ....Barrera, Morales, Marquez, Hatton .......
Even now, we are hearing names such as him calling out Floyd, Margo and Cotto again at the higher division.Last edited by ADP02; 07-10-2010, 03:04 AM.Comment

im sick on these *****s always discrediting pacquiao’ s opponents without even looking on floyds opponent.
pac vs barera, morales and JMM are younger then Floyd vs mosley and JMM. so dont say that pac only fought past prime fighters.
mosley is more damage goods than cotto.
cotto beats mosley
cotto 28 years old. mosley 38 years old
cotto 1 lost before pac fought him. mosley 5 loses before floyd fought him
judah is more damage goods than cotto.
judah was in twilight zone when tzyu ko him.
cotto was still in right mind when tony TKO him.
barera is #1 featherweight when pac fought him.
mosley is #1 welterweight when floyd fought him
the only difference is barera is younger than mosley.Comment

I thought he struggled against a very rough Mayorga by brawling instead of boxing, yet looked decent in his close-decision loss to an undefeated Cotto-he slacked off in some rounds. He looked fine against the southpaw Luis Collazo, who is a tough fight for a lot of people (he beat Yuri in the amateurs and should have gotten the nod against Berto). So taking Mosley into account then.... were you impressed with his wins and performances prior to the Margo fight???? How did he look to you? Do you think Marg's mental state in the Mosley fight would have affected his performance???

I can't complain that he stopped Margarito when he was a severe underdog. It was not Shane's fault that Margarito was caught for attempting to corrupt this fight.I don't think it was Tony's mental state-I don't buy that excuse.I thought Shane fought a great fight-he fought him on the inside where Margarito was absolutely useless and couldn't get full extension on his punches-he got bullied and beaten. No matter how "distracted" you are,you can still defend yourself and at least throw a punch-he couldn't do either with Shane.Comment

The sad thing is that he IS calling out Cotto while he is again in negotiations with Floyd. In the past, when Manny was negotiating with anyone else,he never was looking for other opponents. You either did an honest mistake and see/hear/read Freddie's remarks taken out of context or you are being biased. Roach had to pick between Cotto (Arum guy) and Mosley (GBP guy) and thought he can make more money with Cotto while for close to the same risk but less money fight a Mosley.

Seems odd to me-especially when you take in to account that all of his recent negotiations have been called off at some point (except with the desperate Clottey)-yet he never threw out other names during negotiations...Comment
