Dana isnt ******. Dana learned from Boxing why Boxing has been on the down. It has, whoever says it hasnt is kidding themselves. I love boxing way more then MMA, but Dana puts together fights people want to see. There is no duck and dodging like there is in Boxing.

We dont get to see the fights we want to see alot of the times. They run and hide for years before something happens. Dana is like you fight and you fight becuase thats what the people want to see and it happens.

Boxing and the way its ran is its biggest enemy, not MMA.

the problem with talking about MMA is that a lot of boxing fans, well, hardcore boxing fans, dismiss MMA as some sort of "thing", fact is they're just a bunch of haters that dont know **** about MMA. i prefer boxing over mma, but i wont deny that i watch a lot of MMA because i find it quite entertainig, it's very bloody, and very technical, boxing is an art, and MMA IS an art as well, arguing about what is better than what is ****** because you're never going to get anywhere, you're both going to end up saying that X sport is better than X sport and it's just ******. grow up people, stop hating on MMA just because "they dont make as much PPV revenue or W>E" ppl are always fighting so much about other peoples money. can't you just watch a amazing MMA fight, when you can literally kick the **** out of someone faces and so on? enjoy them both, and if you hate the MMA, nobody makes you watch it, although i gotta admit that generally UFC fans tend to be more immature TOWARDS boxing.

If Mayweather lost decisively I doubt he would do many more 1+ million PPV buys but it seems like in UFC the way it's marketed if a fighter loses it doesn't matter at all because of the promotion. Couture is a huge draw in UFC terms but he has 10 losses (7 in the UFC) Lesnar lost his 2nd fight and he draws 1 million+ PPVs.

Chuck Lidell could probably lead a 700K PPV even though he shouldn't be fighting and lost most of his last fights, It's the way Boxing is promoted. Boxing as a sport needs to ignore records etc. and need to start fighting the best. The UFC are MADE to fight the best 3 times a year.

If Boxing had that it would be HUGE like ridiculous image if Mayweather was forced to face (after Oscar) Cotto, Margarito, Mosley then Pac and imagine if no one cared that Cotto, Mosley, Pac all lost and they could still go on to do big TV numbers. Imagine if Haye and Wlad were forced to fight otherwise they'd be dropped by any promoter.

We would have had boxing's biggest fights and then some.
EXACTLY. That's what I hate about boxing. A lot of the top fighters avoid each other. What happaned to fighting all the best out there in your weight class in boxing? They should also go back to one belt and one champion in each division, five belts is just ridiculous.

whoever doesn't agree that MMA is growing BIG TIME as a sport, is probably the same kind of people that believed 500 years ago that the earth was flat, or that the earth was the center of the universe. MMA and UFC is growing very fast because it's a very no bull**** business, they put the best against the best and you dont have people accusing others of using PEDS or being a catchweight *****, I believe DANA WHITE is a BIG BIG tyrant and he exploits his fighters, but I believe eventually other MMA companies will be competing against each other...

Another thing this twat doesn't realize is that Boxing is already established, unlike MMA. Of course MMA is growing, when you start from nothing and gain you are obviously growing. Boxing was growing globally 100 years ago and now it is a staple in nearly every nation and legit, while MMA is trying to do the same thing. Can MMA ever reach the level of Boxing globally is the question. MMA's biggest country the United States still looks down upon it so much so that it is still banned in many states and the most powerful state in the nation won't touch it. There isn't many nations in the world where MMA is larger than Boxing.

Yeah for some reason, many boxing fans seem to think MMA is still just "a fad" or "human ****fighting" or some savage animal contest and a lot of MMA fans say that boxing is dying because of MMA's growing popularity.

Boxing is not going anywhere, it's been around for over a century and it'll still be around when all of us are long gone. And MMA isn't glorified streetfighting or whatever somebody wants to call it. It's fighting, all around fighting, where competitors can use any style of fighting, not just punching and kicking or grappling, but everything and anything, that's what draws fans to it. If more people took the time out to learn about it, maybe they'd like it, maybe they still wouldn't. At least they'd be able to give an informed opinion instead of saying ignorant **** like that.

Fans like MMA because they're intrigued by the idea of what someone will do in a fight when they're not just limited to throwing punches.

Personal experience stories like in this thread aren't good enough to gauge the popularity and growth of the respective sports. If you and your friends watch UFC that doesn't mean everyone does. Same for people that watch boxing and have friends that do the same. It is normal for you and your friends to have similar interests. Show me the numbers
