More complete fighter? Yes. More right hands and more combination punching. In which fight did Oscar fight better? The first fight with Mosley or the second? He clearly lost the first one as far as I'm concerned. And in case you forgot, Mayweather sr is the one that groomed Mayweather jr into what he became. Starting at a very young age. Roger didn't completely take over until after Mayweather was already a world champ. So you're contradicting yourself with this argument.
However Mosley then began to target Oscar's body, with sickening punches, and scored a narrow but deserved UD. I was even sorry for Oscar during that fight because every time Mosley's righ fist thudded into Oscar's body he winced, and kept bending over lower and lower, to try to protect hiself. Oscar has always been weak in the body which was the reason for his "chest" protector fitting so that it kept inching upwards.
Mosley hit on the body attack just at the right time.Comment

Eres de Panama? Hablas Espanol? Si hablas Espanol... Que son estos comentarios de "boy"? A mi ni me gusta Floyd pero esos commentarios son racista y no quiero leer esa mierda de racismo. Yo soy centro americano como tu. Y como the digo I mi no me gusta Floyd no soy un fan. Yo soy fan de Pacquiao. Pero yo odio racistas y commentario de racismo... So vete a otro lado con esa mierda.
And, if I misspelled some of those words my bad. I am not real good in writing in Spanish.Last edited by jrosales13; 07-06-2010, 10:45 PM.Comment

I gained a lot of respect for Roger in the Mosley fight. After the second round when things were looking not so good for Mayweather and I, as a Mayweather fan, was extremely nervous, Roger simply repeated "you beat him easy when you box him" and continued to act as if nothing had gone wrong. Meanwhile Ellerbe looked as if he had just seen a ghost and Garcia had something to do for the first time in his partnership with Floyd.
Fast forward to 3:05
Sorry I couldnt find a video on the tube with audio but you will get the picture, mainly posted it just for Ellerbe's facials =]Comment

I think the comfort issue is a big thing, all though i also belive that Roger is a very capable trainer. Maybe Jessie Vargas' progress will be able to provide a better gauge of his ability as a trainer.

no you didnt. sorry. i laid out a lot of criteria why sr. is not a great trainer & you respond with that's just one criteria & he has the support of his peers. You never stated your reasons why sr. is a great trainer.
why do older users have this sense of smugness about them?Comment

His father taught him to box and gets credit for that, chances are high that he would have been great with any coach, based on his god given abilities. As Floyd as has stated repeatedly, some fighters are taught/coached to become great fighters, but what he possesses is god-given, these are his own words not mine, his own words support my contention.Comment

If Oscar was a finished product, who did the job? Oscar changed trainers every two fights. Yet he worked with Floyd Sr for five years and says he's the best trainer he ever had and the best boxing mind he's ever worked with. And he said this long before Floyd Jr helped bring him the dough.Comment
