Comments Thread For: Roger Mayweather's Trial May Sideline Pacquiao Fight?

According to Top Rank CEO Bob Arum, the possible sticking point in whether or not Floyd Mayweather Jr. decides to fight in 2010, is Roger Mayweather's upcoming August trial for allegations that he assaulting and choked female boxer Melissa St. Vil last August in Las Vegas. Based on Roger's track record with past assault cases and other criminal charges, there is a good chance that he might do a few months behind bars if convicted in the latest assault case.

How about his father FM Sr?

But If Floyd is more focused with Roger than I'd rather him fight Pacquiao with Roger.

I wouldn't want to see Pacquiao come in unfocused because Roach wasn't able to train him for whatever reason.

I rather both fighters be 100% focused.

But if Floyd decides he's ok with Mayweather Sr training him then make the fight.

He likes Roger better than his father.

Why not have both fighters at their best with their preferred trainers?

this is actually a legitimate excuse for mayweather to refuse the fight this year.

cmon man the date of this trial has been known to the mayweathers for a while now

floyd shouldnt have let gbp negotiate for him if he insisted on roger training him

hope this fight happens in november, may is 10 months away, both guys are in their thirties looking to leave the sport and mayweather will have been inactive for a full year!
