Exactly. And what's telling is that while he would can these guys after two or three fights, he has nothing but the HIGHEST praise for Floyd Sr and worked with him a whopping five years. Food for thought.

All true. He also specifically said Mayweather SR was a better trainer than Roach. . I know that doesn't sit well with hyper sensitive posters that look at Roach as a genius Boxing guru.

I'm sorry that's a bull**** reason for Floyd not to foght thsi year especially when his Dad is there incase. That is just an excuse for Floyd to try and justify not taking this fight when he was already talking about not taking this fight for other reasons(to spend time with his charity).

This is bull**** to try and get out of fighting the rest of the year and try and sell the Roger situation as an excuse to the fans.

You haven't even heard anything from Floyd himself...

            Calm down.

but he still didnt make oscar. he never trained a fighter into prominence. oscar was already oscar by the time sr. got to him.

he may be knowledgeable about the sport but as a trainer he hasnt trained a fighter from unknown into prominence.

At this point in Floyds career having Roger there is overrated. Floyd knows how to train and strategize a fight at this point. Floyd has the advantage to have a trainer like his father that other fighters don't.

If you watch between rounds Roger doesn't give any valid advice, Floyd pretty much does it on his own.

Floyd could train and prepare just as well with his father, if this was earlier in his career I'd understand but not at this point.

Your right about that, just getting sick of a new reason every other day. They need to eiither make this fight or move on. I'm just saying in my opinion thats a weak excuse.

You said Oscar was a finished product. And I pointed out to you several things, that's all. You can acknowledge it or continue to with your dogged ignorance. The notion that you need to take a fighter from unknown into prominence in order to be a great trainer is just ******. How many fighters stick with one guy that long? And, with all due respect, Oscar was more singer than he was boxer when Floyd Sr joined the fray. While he was still a mega star, he had looked less than stellar in the ring and had been usurped by the likes of Felix Trinidad by the time Floyd Sr rolled around. It's no coincidence that his return to the grand stage came when Floyd Sr instructed him prior to round 10 of his bout against Fernando Vargas to run the combinations up the middle and finish with the hook. "Duh duh duh duh." We laughed at his words for months, man. But Oscar it led to the dramatic TKO and he and Floyd Sr never looked back. In fact, if Oscar hadn't decided to fight Floyd Jr, they would probably still be together.
