Saying someone has to come in below the limit is the problem. Don't get me wrong, I like Pac but the fact that you want to fight a welterweight and you won't allow that fighter to come in at the limit at the official weight in is crap. If Pac isn't coming in at the limit of 147 then ok, but don't tell the champ that he can't come at the limit either. Which is the reason why Miguel was against the first fight with Pac in the first place, he didn't want to put up his title if he wasn't allowed to come in at the max welterweight limit. Now if you can't understand that then there is no hope for you. You can't be blinded over your love for a certain fighter man, that makes you a fighter fan boy and not a boxing fan.
when did cotto ever official weighed in at 147 at welterweight? cottos official weighin for his welterweight fights most times have been at 146 and cotto did not official weighed in at 154 for yuri foreman...
im all for catchweights as long as it doesnt take any boxer outside of his weight division (aka delahoya...but this one you cannot blame pac because he didnt call out delahoya, this was more of a circus fight than anything)...the catchweight against cotto was more than reasonable, which was only 1 lb difference from cottos consistance official weighin of 146...besides, cotto had an extra 24hrs to add whatever weight he wanted to for fight nite.

also, why is it that people are making a big deal of pac and the catchweight thing? at what weight should he have fought delahoya? a weight had to be compromised for that fight. and i dont see a big deal for cotto coming in 1 lb less than his normal official weigh-in...AND YET, people are saying pac should fight paul williams, who is fighting at i believe at 160...which is 2 division above welterweight, and would be willing to drop down to welterweight...if paul says he can do that, then what TF is 1 lb for cotto against the first pac fight? or another catchweight with cotto at 154? cotto didnt even make 154 during official weigh-ins...should we say he shouldnt own the belt because he wasnt 154?

Let it go dude. First of all catch weights will always be part of Boxing. Second, if Cotto wants to fight again, what weight would you suggest? Should Manny meet him at 154? Let's say they meet at 151, or 152, is those 2 pounds going to matter as much as you say they did in the previous fight?

Manny having to put weight on doesn't count at all i suppose? No one questioned the "catchweight" until Manny actually won, and that's the truth.

For the record, Michael koncz has nothing to do with the negotiations. Not in the same room, let alone the same building when they are negotiating. this guy is a moron.

He's not afraid of Margarito either, but they'll both destroy him.

look at what happened to marquez having to fight as a welterweight...marquez looked overweight and slow. i dont think it had to do anything with what mayweather did because marquez is a freekeen warrior that will fight you and brawl you all nite long...but that extra weight just did marquez in. we did not see a warrior in marquez that nite...we saw a bloated and overweight marquez that was out of his elements,

You will get hit in ways you didn't know you could get hit. I think it is a shame the way they wouldnt let Cotto come in like he wanted to at the weight limit. It was more mind games than anything. Roach had a great game plan. Cotto's team looked like amateurs.
yes u r right dude this catchweight bullcrap sucks ass just fight at hes damn weight and have a end wit... but that doesnt mean cotto beats PAC just cuz he came at 145 u cant put a excuse like 'oh if only i have a 2pound advantge' no way bro...its not like cotto magically beats him if he came at 147 and he did come in to the fight around 154 or 155 so there should b no quacking but what happened to oscar was jacked up he had to come in at 147 and put on like only 1 pound wow that sucks ass ... but then again PAC had to jump 2 weight classes wjich i thought it was imposible to do but that was a big FAIL!!!!

Who cares what Cotto weighed in fights before Pac, the point is if he wanted to he could weight 147! Why is that so hard for you to understand? If Cotto didn't weight in at 154 when he fought Yuri that's ok you know why? Because he could of weighted 154 if he wanted too!!! The thing with a catchweight is that you can't. Like I said before, i'm not making excuses saying Cotto lost because of the catchweight against Pac, he was just beaten by a better fighter. Pac fought Oscar at 147, why couldn't he fight Cotto at the same weight? The DLH fight was Oscar's screw up, he got mad at Roach for saying he couldn't pull the trigger anymore and walked into a fight he couldn't win all because of pride. The truth is he should of listened to Roach because it was obvious from the Forbes fight that he was done. Who cares about Paul Williams, we're talking about Cotto and Pac. Man you are so blinded by adoration for Pac it's scary. We might as well just agree to disagree. The difference between us is that i'm a boxing fan and you're a fighter fan boy. Our styles don't go together.

I don't know why people can't see that it is Koncz that is pushing for Pac to fight Cotto. He's had over 3 articles now, each one saying "we" (which I think means "Koncz") would probably choose Cotto over Marg. and it was KONCZ that said it would "probably" be at a catchweight. I've said it before, but I don't understand Koncz big push for Cotto (first) as if he has something personally to gain from the fight being made (commision?) To me it sounds like he is trying to convince the general public to like the idea so he can say to Manny "See, everyone wants this." Well, everyone doesn't want this, and I think (and hope) it's far from a done deal. TBH, I think Koncz, Pacs PERSONAL ADVISOR is a snake and even Pacs entire team can't see the use for him. Did Manny owe him for doing something? Because Koncz has proven time and time again that he is NOT a good adivisor, and if Manny can't see that then he has to be blind or foolish.

Koncz: "Manny, here is your tea. Would you like me to fluff your pillow, and hey wouldn't you love to have an 8th div title?"
Pac: "Yes, that would be nice"
End conversation, Koncz goes back to watching water boil.....
Next headline of article... "Pacquiao likes the idea of a REVENGE match against Cotto" says KONCZ.

No one was clamering for a Cotto rematch after their first fight, and the only reason they are talking about it now is because that's all Koncz and Arum keep talking about.

oh really? if cotto wanted to come in at 147 he couldve if he wanted too? really? than why didnt he go into all of his welterweights fight at 147? i guess its because he didnt want too? and i guess he didnt want to official weigh-in at 154 against yuri as well huh?

haha, you're not a boxing fan, your a pac hater more it seems.
