There is no doubt in my mind that PEDS help athletes, even boxers in their preparation for a fight.
But the question is, to what degree does it help and how should it be applied to give the maximum benefit?
Would one week of training with PEDS be enough? Two? Three?
And WHEN should it be taken? A week before the fight? Two? Or should it be taken MONTHS before the fight?
And what are the side effects of taking PEDS? I heard or read somewhere (can't quite remember so i can't say this is FACT) that side effects are: irritability, loss of hair, significant weight gain, BRITTLE BONES, etc.
The sad fact is that since there wasn't any serious scientific study made to make any definite conclusions about PED usage, there are just so many things about it that is mere conjecture and assumptions.
It basically means EVERY BOXER is suspect, even Floyd jr., since according to Victor Conte of BALCO, even the overly-hyped olympic style random blood tests are totally useless in detecting illegal drug use. (i remember Conte actually saying that "You have to be ****** to be caught.") That's how badly he considers ANY of the current testing standards.
For all we know, Floyd jr. could be banking on the fact that he KNOWS HOW TO CHEAT THE VERY TESTS HE'S PROMOTING.
I'm not saying that he is mind you, i'm simply pointing out the current situation where EVERYONE claims to be an expert and because there is just so many unanswered questions, ANYTHING can happen and EVERYONE can be assumed to be cheating.
