1. Oscar doesn't really have the inside knowledge we think he does especially of late. Remember he has been MIA for the last few months now all of sudden he is the reference point to what's happening? I don't buy it I know he and Schaeffer had not been talking too much over some issues within the company and while I understand it his company and all, he is more figurehead than actual man in the mix

I understand Oscar is more of a figurehead but I find it hard to believe Oscar wouldn't be following the negotiation process of the biggest fight in history money wise. I'm sure he doesn't know all the details but any president of a company would be interested in knowing how things are going...

I'm not saying they are fact, I'm just saying that because of the numerous sources and pieces of information that have been positive over the weeks help me, personally, feel more optimistic about Arum and GBP coming to terms. why is Bob so determined to mention not fighting this year? He keeps saying that if Mayweather doesn't want to fight this year then that's okay too.

Maybe Arum is aware of the same rumor that was posted on this website today that there is a chance Mayweather is not willing to fight this year due to tax purposes. I don't know.

and Tony will fight again in the US I have a feeling the wheels have already been put in motion.

Tony was supposed to be on the Chavez/Duddy card. Tony was supposed to be on the Pac/Clottey card. I don't think anyone knows, including arum, when and if tony will fight again in the US. It's a gamble. i think obviously Margarito would be the #1 guy for Pac if not floyd, but knowing that he may not be able to fight in the US, that's the only reason Cotto is even being mentioned.

Am glad we actually still have some sensible/intelligent posters who could see through Arum's charades, Him coming out and saying "Nobody is obligate to fight this year" Smell and sinks bad. All he want to do is try and divert the blame unto Mayweather so the media can blame him if the fight doesnt get made.

not disagreeing with you, but did you see that thread about the rumor of floyd possibly not wanting to fight this year because of tax reasons? Meaning if he makes say 100 million dollars this year (or whatever the number would be) he would be taxed very highly, compared to if he made 50 million this year and 50 million next year...

there was indeed turmoil within GBP. I won't state what but it was enough to split him from his company in disgust for a bit

now he has been back the last few weeks and seems to have patched things up

so given 1. he is more figurehead than actual executive 2. he had been away from GBP for a few months 3. he knows little about the actual business

GBP is married to MGM Properties and they will not let this fight happen in Vegas unless it is at one of their venues. Remember the pressure they put on Schaefer for the fight possibly happening in Dallas? Multiply that by ten if they have it Vegas without their involvement

no he wasn't. I know the team he is not going to fight unless it's a big name or he knows he cannot fight in the US then he will fight in Mexico again.
