not disagreeing with you, but did you see that thread about the rumor of floyd possibly not wanting to fight this year because of tax reasons? Meaning if he makes say 100 million dollars this year (or whatever the number would be) he would be taxed very highly, compared to if he made 50 million this year and 50 million next year...
No i havent but am sure he has only fought once this year, So am not sure if Mayweather would gross over 100Million in two fights.
Am sure if everyone involve would have know about the "Tax" issue before they started negotiating for a fight.Comment

Well I didn't say it would be exactly $100 million, I said or whatever that total number would be.
How much did he make against Mosley?
How much can he make against Pac?
How much did he get from endorsements?
Add those figures up and it is an insanely high number.
I'm no expert on taxes but I would expect the more money you make in a year the more taxes you pay. Maybe it's a difference between being in one tax bracket and being in another much higher percentage bracket.
And thus the reason I said maybe that's why Arum said "if he's willing to fight this year" maybe he knows it COULD be an issue. Again I don't know just offering one possible explanation for his comment.Am sure if everyone involve would have know about the "Tax" issue before they started negotiating for a fight.Last edited by ИATAS; 07-01-2010, 11:40 AM.Comment

Well he fought Marquez in 2009... I am sure you meant Mosley, though..Well I didn't say it would be exactly $100 million, I said or whatever that total number would be.

One also needs to note one of Bob's favorite past times recently is pinning things on Floyd, he has been doing that **** ever since they split.
It is odd the way things were worded no doubt, if everything is all good Floyd should be in the loop with his people that are negotiating and if Floyd didn't want to fight this year why would he have people working on the fight. It is just puzzling but he is old so possibly he became a doddring old man when talking to Iole.Comment

Arum has got the media on lockdown, And what actually helps him is the fact that Mayweather doesnt get on well with the media.

That's all it would take though right?Originally posted by Eaner0919I can see a case where Schaefer tells him very basic surface level stuff and he just regurgitates what he hears
Oscar: How are the negotiations going?
Richard: They are going great Oscar we are close to finalizing the contracts.
Oscar: Sweet, I'll go **** my "wife" now then brag on TV.
lol, that's one scenario innit?
Point is, no one knows what was said. I understand Oscar's absence but still, again the biggest fight in history, I just don't see Oscar not giving a fuuck and not probing around, asking questions and whatnot. Who knows though.
Everyone involved is a known liar. From Bob Arum to Richard Schaefer to Floyd to Manny 'the saint' Pacquiao. All of them have lied in the past.optimism is great with this bro HELL I am optimistic this fight will happen in Nov
but I don't trust when only one party, a known liar to boot, says this is all in the hands of one side
Could it be possible this supposed arena is built on MGM properties or in conjunction with MGM? Serious question.let's also not forget
GBP is married to MGM Properties and they will not let this fight happen in Vegas unless it is at one of their venues. Remember the pressure they put on Schaefer for the fight possibly happening in Dallas? Multiply that by ten if they have it Vegas without their involvement
Yep, snag. But if that's true it would explain bob arum's comment and he wouldn't be a liar in this particular case would he (if that was the one hold up)?see what I mean? snags baby snags
This article from boxingscene states "margarito could fight on Chavez/Duddy card"no he wasn't. I know the team he is not going to fight unless it's a big name or he knows he cannot fight in the US then he will fight in Mexico again.

And neither have granted him a license yet. It's no guarantee is my point.Arum has both Texas and Nev willing to at least let Margarito get a hearing in front of their commissions. That I know for fact.
Fasho.good debate bruh thanksComment

If the negotiations are in good faith then why through out out the variables like deadlines and taking the year off? Its like covering bases. I really hope someone outside of top rank comments today.Comment

I agree, too much this and that for me to think it is all kosher. I think Arum already has a fight lined up with Margs and is trying to spin it like Floyd doesn't want the fight or whatever the case. I think someone from Mayweather's camp would have said something about it by now if the fight was a done deal.Comment
