hasn't Top Rank's side been saying of late either Floyd needs to accept or we move on because Nov is going to approach and they need to get this signed so they can do the press tour etc etc?

now all of a sudden Top Rank now says all sides accept?

basically they went from sounding like this fight wasn't happening to now all parties agreeing and it being up to Floyd.

    doesn't mesh to me.

listen I hope I am wrong but to me this screams of Arum trying to win this in the media because he knows Mayweather won't accept the terms that he is being presented

and I disagree with BPP's assessment of the situation as being the only answer.

while yes you can make a case where all sides are in agreement to the principles outlined and it being up to Floyd to sign off on

however, you can also see a scenario where Bob advised Mayweather's side that this is the final offer from Manny's side and they should take it to Mayweather even if they think it won't be approved by him. Since Bob "presented" this offer to Mayweather's side he can say now "hey the ball is in their court we gave them our offer to take to Floyd its up to him" which is essentially what he is saying

and while he states that the issues have been resolved he isn't clear as to which issues. I mean could it not be that maybe HE wants Manny to fight one of his in house fighters first then go into May to fight Mayweather? I mean he is constantly mentioning the aspect of fighting Cotto or Margarito seemingly more than the prospect of fighting Floyd in November or am I mistaken

again I hope this fight happens in Nov but his words are interestingly pieced together to where you can speculate a bit

in all honesty I hope I am reading too much into it but knowing Bob I doubt it
Like I said in previous post. That I am just waiting to see how everything plays out. I am not saying it is happening nor am I saying is not happening and blaming one side if it doesn't happen. Until I know full details. And, as of right now no details have been mentioned from either side. Can't say anything for sure.

Also as I said Oscar came out and said that it was also a close to being done. Where he was "misquoted" Either both are lying or both are telling the truth. I honestly take both words with a grain of salt...

However, what I am saying as to my post, that you replied, was referring to that the talks of Margarito being the very likely next possible opponent is very premature since as of right now he hasn't gotten his license. Everybody is saying that Arum can get it. Then why hasn't he been able to get it as of June 30? maybe he doesn't have the pull that we think he has?

I can see Pac-Cotto or even Pac-JCC Jr in November. But, as of right now I can't see Pac-Margarito until Marg gets his license. Then those assumptions happen but until that day any talks about it is very premature IMO.

The live gate for Pac and Cotto was 8.8 million and for Pac/Clottey it was 5 million (total $13 million live gate) and the combined PPVs added up to 1.9 million for the two fights.

If Mayweather/Pac does better than Mayweather/De La Hoya, Arum will definitely make more money than he would in two fights between Pac and Cotto and Pac and Margarito. Pac/Cotto would probably not sell 1 million on PPV and Pac/Margarito wouldn't sell more than 500,000. This is a no brainer for Arum IF WHAT HE SAYS IS TRUE.

We would never know how much Arum could generate from having both Pac-Margarito oppose to Pac fighting Mayweather.

But am prepared to wait even past August to see what happens, I hope Pac-PBF happens, I hope they sign the fight but am now less optimistic after reading Margarito's claims and Arum's disguised article(Nobody is obligated? WTF)
Well wasn't he suppose to be ready to dive back to into the American market in March? What happened their?

It could very possibly be that this man can get his license back in America.

Again I am not saying that Arum might not be planning something else. As I said Pac-Cotto Pac-JCC Jr or Pac-anybody can happen.

But, the talks of Pac-Margarito happening are very premature. As of right now it has no chance of happening.

Margarito was rumored to be on the cards of two fights in America this year. And, he was in neither. Maybe, just maybe he will not get his license...

So before of jumping on the whole Pac-Margarito in November why not wait not only till August but wait till Magarito gets his license. It could be tomorrow but it could be never.

                  • I know when I first logged onto this site the people who paid attention to my posts viewed me as a Floyd Mayweather hater and it was true up to a degree. I couldn't really find a reason to respect the guy because he was constantly making excuses of why fights with top boxers shouldn't happen.

That all changed the night he dominated Shane Mosley. Say what you want about Mosley's age, but he just demolished Margarito and was ranked #1 at 147. This along with the fact that Floyd **** on the sanctioning bodies earned a lot of points in my book and overcoming that rocky moment against Mosley in the second round and showing the heart he did.

Up until now, it's a fact Pacquiao was on the wrong side of the spectrum when it came to the blood tests. But that wasn't the main thing about Pacquiao that rubbed me the wrong way. He really did and still does strike me as a money grubbing fighter always trying to bend the layout to his favor and not going by the textbook like when he kept making these guys drain weight to fight him and hopscothing through divisions without fighting prime fighters.

Aside from all that though, I can't side with Floyd if this fight doesn't happen now and the ball is definitely in his court now.

I'm also not a Pacquiao hater even though his flaws when it comes to not fighting certain guys bother me. I'm actually a fan of the dude because he always fights like a warrior and I realize he has to answer to Arum and go along with the flow because he's not the match maker.
