Why wouldn't he be? I don't expect the fight to happen, but Cotto is definitely on the radar. As long as the Pac fight stays dormant, anyone with a strap and/or a name at 147-154 should be a viable option for Floyd to challenge.

well cotto only got 33% of the purse agianst pacquiao so offer 35% of a larger purse and if cottos smart he will follow the money.

co sign that....cotto got beaten only by pressure fighters with power, and floyd is not it.....cotto would be a bigger challenge than mosely was for sure.......i dont think floyd will fight cotto for anything !

Bob may not have a choice if Mayweather makes Cotto an "offer he can't refuse" ---------> Arum not making the best business deal for the fighter he represents out of malice for the other party would certainly be grounds for Cotto to get out of his TR contract------> Arum wouldn't be doing his job as promoter.

I think Floyd would offer Cotto 35%, even 40%. It's a money fight. Floyd pays Ellerbe 1% and Haymon takes 5-7%, Roger and staff make up the other few %, so really he only pays out 10% from his total cut of the purse, gate and PPV.

Honestly i don't see how Floyd vs Cotto would do any less than 1.4 million PPV buys. Call me crazy but i think it would do over 1.6 million buys. Floyd could easily make another $40 million with Cotto.

I also think it would be an excellent strategy for Haymon to make a pre-emptive offer to Cotto should the Pac fight not materialise. It serves to create friction with Arum anmd Cotto and if Cotto wants Floyd it puts Manny into the position of possibly having Arum face him off with Margarito (license pending ofcourse), a fight i think Roach really doesn't want.

Dont you people realize that Cotto or Marg would take Arum to court in a heartbeat if he ruined the biggest payday of their careers?
