Valuev kept winning because he fought awful competition and got a lot of gift decision, he's the perfect example that size means nothing if you don't have skill. He got tooled by Chagaev, who got absolutely detsroyed by Wlad.

But if you are good enough you beat him, I mean even Holyfield gave him fits.

And probably should have won that awful fight.

Maybe if we changed the name of the CW division more ppl would be interested and more fighters would have reason to stay there.

Just imagine what more casual fans would think when they heard about a CW title fight. They probably are like WTF is a CW? Pass........

What if boxing just moved the class a few pounds up or down and rehashed it the UltraLHW or something fantastical like that?

Sounds simple but its easy to get ppls attention with flash.

Thats why I think people are interested in fights involving Tua, Arreolla, Haye and Adamek.

They'd be exciting and close. And they wouldnt be mismatches.

Bit of a rash move. Plus I really doubt it'd make any difference. People just love seeing the biggest and baddest face each other which is what the heavyweight division provides (well, the 'biggest' part anyway). It's natural that the second biggest guys are gonna be eternally overshadowed, but the further you go down the less size is a factor in people's perception.

Unless someone really good and/or really popular settles into the cruiserweight brackets and brings some attention to the division there isn't ever gonna be much money there. And even then, that big star would probably move up to heavyweight to multiply his earnings anyway.

The word 'heavyweight' is a draw in and of itself.

There isnt enough talent above 200 pounds to fill one division, let alone two

Thats a pretty good point. The era as a whole is very poor.

this seems like a klitschko hate thread... idk just by the tone of it

"adding a super heavy division forcing the klits to move up, so other fighters can rain at heavyweight"

no... we dont need another division..

It has no tone like that at all.
