When you consider the energy fighters use to always be on the move and absorbing punishment throughout a fight, you're not going to see a lot of 1,200 punch counts being both guys are not trying to get hit as often. Pacquiao saw Clottey wasn't doing anything thus kept throwing punches to try to at least get him to open up, where I believe things would've gotten worse for Clottey.

My point exactly look at Pacs previous fights he has never came even close to the volume he achieved that night and not just volume punching, power punching at high volume. Dont try to insult me with you new to boxing comments. I was watching boxing when you were just a stain in your daddy's boxers.

against Cotto pac threw 780 punches, so we will say if the fight wen the distance 800 punches

against Marquez pac threw 619 punches

against Diaz pac threw 788 punches

All those fighters fought back. Cotto kept distance the last few rounds, Diaz got KO'd and Marquez is a counter puncher, and a very good one at that which makes throwing 1200 punches kinda tough.
