Why was a Dawson win changed to a NC because of Marijuana?

Dawson deserved the NC since he tested positive for a banned substance.

But Weed, if anything, hurts your performance more than anything you can gain from smoking it before a fight.

Can you feel punches when youre high?

I have only experimented in the past and don't use the stuff but have never been in a fight high to know.

All I know is if i was fighting Dawson and was given the option of fighting him before or after he smoked, I would light him up myself in order to give myself some false hope before my eventual boxing lesson.

in other sports i can understand because the organization has a stake in you and what you do.

but when you are your own employer and you fight under a commission how does marijuana come into play?

maybe to keep integrity but really?

no way you can say weed is a performance enhancer...

but i do have to say smoking after a strenuous workout does have benefits.....

I noticed when boxrec rangering + some addition research that Dawson has a NC in a fight he won because he tested positive for pot and I could see him being fined but its not a performance enhancer in anyway at all.

So why would the win be discredited for that?

Who cares if fighters are toking up, if anything it hurts their chances of winning and its not like it puts their opponent at a disadvantage so there to me seems to be nothing in that win that is tainted.

Marijuana is definitely not a performance enhancer. But it is a banned substance so the NC makes sense.
